Rovman Powell will captain the side, bringing his explosive batting and leadership qualities to the table, while vice-captain Alzarri Joseph will provide key support with his fast bowling abilities.

Young fast bowler Shamar Joseph is expected to make his debut in T20 cricket for West Indies after his impressive performance in the Test match against Australia and has been selected in the T20 World Cup squad.

Meanwhile, Shimron Hetmyer has returned to the team after missing the recent T20I series against Australia. He has been performing well in the ongoing IPL, playing the role of a finisher for Rajasthan Royals, batting at over 184 and scoring 83 runs in 4 innings.

West Indies are in Group C along with Afghanistan, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Uganda. The two-time T20 World Cup champions will open their campaign against Papua New Guinea on June 2 in Guyana.
