It is the chosen one’s destiny to defeat evil and restore peace and justice to the world, but this archetype can take many different forms.

The chosen one trope is often closely associated with science fiction, with characters like Paul Atreides in Dune and Luke Skywalker in Star Wars being perfect examples. However, the idea of a chosen one is present in many genres. Many stories use this trope as a way to symbolize that one person’s actions are important to a much larger group.
