10 Characters Who Must Return In John Wick 5 If Keanu Reeves Comes Back

Summary

  • John Wick: Chapter 5 could see the return of fan-favorite characters like Sofia, Akira, and Uncle Charlie.
  • Halle Berry brought a unique dynamic to the series as Sofia with her canine companions by her side.
  • Characters like Mr. Nobody and Ares could play key roles in John’s next adventure, adding depth to the story.

If Keanu Reeves returns for John Wick: Chapter 5then it should herald the return of all the other fan-favorite characters, from Sofia to Aurelius to the Bowery King. Reeves’ return seemed unlikely after John died at the end of John Wick: Chapter 4It had the distinct feel of a final chapter. It would have been a fitting conclusion to the John Wick saga: John takes on the entire High Table, makes the ultimate sacrifice to defeat their leader, and reunites with his late wife Helen in the afterlife.

But after John Wick: Chapter 4 became the highest-grossing film in the franchise, Lionsgate wasted no time in beginning development. John Wick: Chapter 5If Reeves returns for a fifth film, he will either have to rehash John’s death or insert a prequel story between the films, and either of those options would undermine the weight of his sacrifice in Chapter 4. But while Chapter 5 It seems likely to become a reality, it’s a great opportunity to bring back some beloved characters.

10 Sofia

Halle Berry as Sofia with an angry and confused appearance in John Wick 3- Parabellum

Halle Berry made her debut as former assassin Sofia Al-Azwar in John Wick: Chapter 3 – ParabellumShe is the manager of the Casablanca Continental and an old friend that John calls to ask a favor of. When he is in Morocco, on the run from the High Table’s goon squad, he recruits Sofia to help him take them on. There are plenty of tough killers in the John Wick Marvel Universe, but what makes Sofia unique are her canine companions. She brings her dogs into the battlefield with her, and they’re even deadlier than she is.

John and Sofia made an incredible duo. Berry committed to the physicality of the role just as wholeheartedly as Reeves, and their playful banter in the midst of battle was truly endearing. It would be great to see Sofia back in action. John Wick: Chapter 5.

9 Akira

Akira looking angry in John Wick 4

The last time audiences saw Shimazu Akira, he was in Paris, on the verge of exacting revenge for the death of his father Koji. This hinted that Akira would reappear in the future of the franchise. The most likely option will be in the Caine spin-off film. Caine is the one who killed Koji and the target of Akira’s revenge in John Wick: Chapter 4The post-credits scene of ‘s. But after Caine’s film, or perhaps even before, he could appear in John Wick: Chapter 5.

Akira is the janitor of the Osaka Continental, so it would make sense to bring her back if the franchise wants to return to that location. Despite being primarily a singer, Rina Sawayama gave a great performance as Akira in John Wick: Chapter 4He perfectly captured the pain of losing a father and the ruggedness of climbing up the back of a burly henchman with a pair of knives.

8 Uncle Charlie

John talks to Charlie in John Wick

David Patrick Kelly appeared in the first two John Wick Movies like Uncle Charlie. Charlie is basically a crime scene cleaner who works freelance in the criminal underworld. If an underworld figure like John needs to dispose of some dead bodies and clean up some blood splatter, Charlie and his crew come along and take care of it. It’s essentially the same job that Mike Ehrmantraut initially had in Breaking Bad before becoming a handyman.

Although he continued to kill legions of people throughout the third and fourth films, John never retained Charlie’s services again. John Wick: Chapter 5 reveals that John faked his death, he could return to a peaceful and anonymous life. And when his old enemies come knocking on his door, he’ll need help getting rid of their bodies.

7 Mr. Nobody

Shamier Anderson as Mr. Nobody sits on a bench next to The Accomplice in John Wick: Chapter 4.

John Wick: Chapter 4 introduced audiences to a bounty hunter known by the moniker “Mr. Nobody,” aka “The Tracker,” played by Shamier Anderson. He spent the film chasing John, but passed up the opportunity to kill him more than once because he was waiting for the High Table to raise the price on his head. But Mr. Nobody ended up sparing John’s life. Not only did he not kill John, he actively saved his life.

Mr. Nobody brought the story full circle. This whole saga started with the cruel murder of a dog. After John saves Mr. Nobody’s dog’s life, Mr. Nobody saves his own. This proved that mercy is the most powerful weapon in the John Wick universe. It would be great to see Mr. Nobody team up with John on his next adventure.

6 ares

Ares looks serious in John Wick Chapter 2

Ruby Rose had a small but memorable supporting role in John Wick: Chapter 2 as Ares, a mute assassin who worked as Santino’s head of security. John fought Ares in the sequel’s iconic hall of mirrors sequence and she ended up suffering a fatal wound. As she lay dying, Ares jokingly beckoned to John, “I’ll be watching you,” and he replied sardonically: “Sure.“And that was it: Ares’ fate was left ambiguous.

It’s easy to assume that he died from his wound, but since his death was never shown onscreen, it stands to reason that he could have gotten medical help in time. It would be a great way to show that the skeletons in John’s closet come back to haunt him if he faces Ares in John Wick: Chapter 5This character was too good to be used just once.

5 Officer Jimmy

Jimmy standing at John's door in John Wick

Thomas Sadoski made brief appearances in the first two John Wick In the films, he plays Officer Jimmy, a cop who appears to be friends with John. He knows about John’s background as a professional killer, and although he stops by the house to respond to a noise complaint, he’s more than happy to cover up John’s murder spree. The friendship between John and Jimmy is truly unique, and it would be interesting to explore their story in more depth.

There is a widespread theory among fans that there are no police in the… John Wick universe. This would explain how killers can kill dozens of people in a crowded nightclub and get away with it. But Jimmy is living proof that the universe John Wick The universe does, in fact, have police officers. Your character would be a great vehicle to explore that aspect of the universe.

4 The King of Bowery

The Bowery King looking angry in John Wick Chapter 4

As a former crime boss who was left for dead by the High Table, the Bowery King wanted the organization to crumble just as much as John did. When John confronted the High Table in John Wick: Chapter 4The King of the Bowery sponsored it. In the world of John WickVery few people can trust each other, but John can trust the Bowery King. If the High Table is still in operation, then the Bowery King will not rest.

Since its debut in John Wick: Chapter 2It’s been fun seeing Reeves back on screen in his old… Matrix co-star Laurence Fishburne. The chemistry between Reeves and Fishburne remains as strong as it was in Matrix trilogy, and it could be even stronger after so many years of friendship. If Reeves returns for John Wick: Chapter 5So it would make sense to bring Fishburne back as well.

3 Cain

Donnie Yen as Caine in John Wick Chapter 4

Donnie Yen made his John Wick franchise debut in Chapter 4He played an old friend of John’s named Caine, a blind assassin. The High Table lured Caine out of retirement and forced him to go after John, promising him the safety of his daughter if he could kill his friend. But John and Caine shared the same goal: to bring down the High Table, so they teamed up at the last moment to ensure John could make it to the climactic duel and kill the Marquis.

Caine quickly emerged as a fan-favorite icon and Yen is already confirmed to reprise the role in a spin-off film centered on Caine. Caine is primed for the spin-off treatment and Chapter 4‘s post-credits scene set up the perfect plot for it. But if Reeves returns for John Wick: Chapter 5Cain should also reappear there.

2 Aurelius

John Leguizamo as Aurelio in John Wick

It seemed like a strange omission when Aurelio didn’t appear at John’s grave at the end of John Wick: Chapter 4. John Leguizamo appeared as Aurelio in the first two John Wick Aurelio is a movie actor and seemed to be a very close friend of John. Aurelio is the owner of the high-end junkyard where John takes his broken-down cars. Aurelio is the miracle worker who got John’s stolen Mustang running again after he used it as a blunt instrument in Episode 2.

Aurelio is one of John’s closest friends. It made no sense for him not to pay his respects alongside Winston and the Bowery King at John’s grave. Aurelio was sorely missed in the third and fourth episodes. John Wick films, but the franchise can make up for it by giving him a role in the fifth film.

1 Winston

Winston in John Wick 4

The only character that definitely has to appear in John Wick: Chapter 5 – especially if Reeves returns – is Winston Scott, the owner and manager of the New York Continental. Winston was introduced as a key figure in the criminal underworld, but as the series evolved, he became increasingly prevalent as a key figure in John’s personal life. He’s not just an exposition machine; he’s one of John’s closest confidants.

There are several theories about Winston’s connection to John, including the possibility that he’s Helen’s father, but one thing is clear: Winston is the closest thing John has to a father figure. Ian McShane’s fun on-screen chemistry with Reeves is one of the best parts of the franchise. John Wick: Chapter 5 It’s done, Winston needs to get back to John’s side.
