15 Major Marvel & DC Movies That Venom: The Last Dance Already Passed At The Box Office

Venom: The Last Dance continues to make its box office push, and the latest entry in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe has already managed to surpass major Marvel and DC movies throughout its worldwide box office run. Venom: The Last Dance‘s ending seems to put a pretty final point to Tom Hardy’s SSU franchise. That is okay, as Hardy’s Venom movies achieved what they set out to do, becoming the most successful in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe and being mostly enjoyed by moviegoers.

Based on the SSU film’s box office run, it seems like Venom: The Last Dance‘s symbiotes are still pursuing bigger things. The movie has already surpassed major releases from both Marvel and DC, with Venom: The Last Dance having the potential to overcome many more before it stops playing in theaters. Older entries featured on the list are not adjusted for inflation. Here are 15 major Marvel and DC movies that Venom: The Last Dance has beaten at the box office, according to data from The Numbers.

James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad acts as a soft reboot for David Ayer’s 2016 Suicide Squad. Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) is again recruiting a group of superheroes for a dangerous mission, this time pairing Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman) with Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Bloodsport (Idris Elba), Peacemaker (John Cena), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Ratcatcher 2 (Daniela Melchior), Savant (Michael Rooker), King Shark (Sylvester Stallone), Blackguard (Pete Davidson), and Javelin (Flula Borg).

Despite being one of the DCEU’s best movies, The Suicide Squad was not a box office hit. Factors like 2016’s Suicide Squad not being as good as expected, the state of disarray of the DCEU, and pandemic-related concerns might have contributed to its poor performance.

X-Men: First Class charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga in the 1960s. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers. Before they were archenemies, they were close friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to prevent nuclear Armageddon.
