In Ready or Not’s “Fatal Obsession” mission, players embark on a tense operation to apprehend former US Intelligence Agency analyst Gerald Scott in connection with a tragic shooting. Scott’s attack on the Makad precinct resulted in multiple casualties, injuring police officers and killing several people. With limited information on Scott, the team tracked him to Sullivan’s Slope and discovered his secluded cabin.
Inside, clues reveal Scott’s intense paranoia and intelligence, displayed through the mysterious drawings and complex equations that adorn the walls. As players navigate the three-story cabin, they will encounter evidence of Scott’s proficiency with firearms and tactical gear, suggesting possible military or law enforcement training. Faced with the challenge of apprehending an armed and dangerous suspect in a chaotic and dangerous environment, players must use their wits and strategic skills to end Scott’s deadly rampage.

- Equip Non-Lethal Gear: Equip your red and blue teams with non-lethal assault rifles and bean bag shotguns for a safer approach.
- Carry a non-lethal weapon: Make sure you have your own non-lethal weapon for added precautions.
- Check for traps: Before entering any door, peek or use the mirror gun to spot traps.
- Search for hostiles: After targeting a hostile, check to see if they have multiple weapons, as they often carry many on this map.
When attacking Sullivan’s Slope, be careful as the enemies are heavily armed. Please follow this floor guide:
level one:
- Approach the house and be wary of the shots coming from the upper balcony.
- Check the door for traps, clear the room carefully, and be on the lookout for enemies entering from different directions.
Second and third floors:
- Catch the enemy off guard for a smoother approach.
- Defuse the explosives, clear the room, and focus on Gerald Scott’s screening room.
- Use the flashbang to stun and arrest Gerald, then clear out the remaining enemies.
While there are traps on the third floor, focusing on the inside will help. Catching the heavily armed and disguised Gerald can be difficult, but overall this area is generally less challenging.

In Ready or Not, you basically play as a cop dealing with a difficult situation. The game is characterized by hyper reality. You have to plan your moves carefully, as it only takes a few shots to knock you or your enemy down. You can choose your weapons and make them your own by adding cool stuff like scopes and silencers. There are also gadgets like grenades and shields to help you. You can also use harmless weapons, such as a Taser or pepper spray, to catch the bad guys without doing much damage to them. But sometimes, these harmless weapons can accidentally cause more damage than you expect.
You have to be careful when you’re dealing with bad guys – they may try to trick you by pretending to be depressed or even dead. So, you have to be smart and put handcuffs on them to make sure they are really unusable. Here’s the thing: If you end up hurting innocent people or your own team, the game won’t be too happy about it. Just like following the rules and being fair is a big thing in the gaming world.

Ready or not to develop
Production of the Ready or Not game began in June 2016, and a video about the game was shown on YouTube in May 2017. In August 2019, a special early version was given out to some people who owned the special edition of the game, but they didn’t keep it a secret.
In April 2020, they let some backers and YouTubers try out parts of the game and share their thoughts. The game was officially launched into Early Access on Steam in December 2021. Later, in 2023, they said the entire game was ready and released.
They mentioned new missions around combating and illegal cryptocurrency mining, as well as improvements such as better gear and characters that can do more on their own. There were a few issues along the way, such as a collaboration with another team called Team17 that didn’t work out and issues on Steam due to the game being set in a nightclub level, but they fixed that and got a backup of the game.
