All Best Materia in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, A Complete List

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is an action role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix. It is the sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake (2020), the second in a planned trilogy of remakes of the iconic 1997 PlayStation game Final Fantasy VII.

Rebirth continues the gameplay style of its predecessor, blending real-time action with strategy and role-playing elements. The storyline follows the events of Rebirth and tells the story of mercenary Claude Strife and the AVALANCHE eco-terrorist organization. Their mission is to travel across planets and stop the super-corporation Shinra from using Lifestream as an energy source. Their ultimate goal is to confront Sephiroth, a former elite soldier who aims to unite with the planets to gain greater power.

Rebirth began production in November 2019 ahead of the release of the remake, and was officially unveiled in June 2022. The core staff of the previous game returned to their original positions, with Tetsuya Nomura as creative director (not director) and Naoki Hamaguchi as director (not co-director).

Released exclusively for PlayStation 5 on February 29, 2024, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth continues the legacy of this beloved series with a gripping storyline and engaging gameplay.

  • My personal favorite Materia is the Comet, which lets you cast a celestial spell that causes a giant comet to fall from the sky, creating a fiery explosion. Upgrade it to a Comet, and the explosion is even more powerful. Obtain this Materia in the Nibel region as part of the Chadley Materia development.

Magic Focus Materials

  • After discovering Gongaga, obtain the Magic Focus Materia from Chadli’s Materia Development, which is invaluable to magic users. It increases the potency and duration of spells connected to the Materia. It starts at a 5% increase, reaching a powerful 25% increase by the fifth level. Perfect for characters like Aerith and Red.

Jumping Magic Stone

  • Jumping Crystal is suitable for characters without jumping ability, and is very convenient for fighting flying enemies in battle. The character jumps into the air, disappears briefly, and then lands to deliver a powerful attack. It is especially effective when combined with ATB Boost Crystal in exciting battles.

Assessment Materials

  • One of the most useful Materia is Appraisal, which allows you to view all of an enemy’s statistics, providing important information such as weaknesses, etc. Equipping it to the Cloud ensures a constant advantage, as enemies encountered for the first time are stored in your Enemy Intelligence.

Automatic Unique Ability Materials

Reinforcement Materials

  • Strength Enhancement Stone focuses on increasing strength, increasing strength by 5% in the initial stage and reaching an astonishing 25% in the fifth level. Suitable for characters who focus on physical strength, it is widely used and easy to obtain.

MP Upgrade Materials

  • A standard magic stone for magicians, MP Up initially increases maximum MP by 10% and increases it to 30% at Tier 5. It’s perfect for characters like Aerith and Cloud, replenishing magical abilities and pairs well with ATB Boost to increase damage output.

Magical Efficiency Materials

  • Magic Efficiency Materia is vital to magic users, as it reduces the MP cost of spells linked to Materia in combat. Upon reaching the third tier, it drastically reduces the MP cost of spells linked to Materia by 50%. It can be obtained from the Materia exploitation in the Junon region by Chadli.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth gameplay

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is one of a trilogy of remakes of the classic 1997 PlayStation game. It continues the story after Final Fantasy VII Remake (2020), following the characters’ escape from Midgar.

The protagonist is Claude Strife, a former Shinra soldier now allied with the eco-terrorist group AVALANCHE, which opposes Shinra’s plundering of Earth’s life energy. The story revolves around their conflict with Sephiroth, an elite soldier who was originally thought to be dead but has returned for a showdown. Like Remake, Rebirth reimagines the original game with added character depth and narrative expansion.

Compared to Remake’s linear Midgar, this game involves real-time exploration and combat, and the game world is more open. Objective markers guide players through the main and side quests, and distances are displayed on the heads-up display. Chocobos provide faster travel speeds, and combat combines action-centric melee with an Active Time Battle (ATB) system. Characters can be switched freely, using physical attacks, magic, and items strategically. The “synergy” mechanic introduced in the DLC “Episode INTERmission” allows for synchronized attacks at a slower ATB bar fill rate.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth continues the storyline of Final Fantasy VII Remake, reimagining the original 1997 game. The main goal is to thwart Sephiroth’s plan to summon meteors and gain godhood by merging with the Lifestream. The game covers the events from the departure from Midgar to the Forgotten Capital, with a changed order of exploration.

Claude Strife leads the team, which includes Barrett Wallace, Tifa Lockhart, Aerith Gainsborough, Red XIII, and Yuffie Kisaragi, each contributing unique skills. Other characters such as Zack Fair, Cait Sith, Vincent Valentine, and Sid Highwind also play important roles.
