Anomalies Pacific Drive, How to Find Anomalies?

Pacific Avenue

Pacific Drive is a game about survival in the Pacific Northwest. You can escape on foot or in a station wagon. The game is played from a first-person perspective and you need to avoid metal monsters that stick to your car. You can repair and replace the car in the garage.

The idea for the game came to Alexander Dracott while he was driving across the Olympic Peninsula in 2019. He thought about making the game alone, but then realized he needed help. He began to assemble a team during the COVID-19 pandemic. They announced Pacific Drive in September 2022 and released it on PlayStation 5 and Windows on February 22, 2024. Critics loved the game, especially its atmosphere, characters, and car designs. But others said the gameplay was too repetitive and difficult.

Pacific Avenue Gameplay

Pacific Avenue is a game where you need to survive in the Pacific Northwest in 1998. You play the game from a first-person perspective and can either walk or drive a station wagon. You can upgrade your car in the garage, which is like your base camp. In the garage, you can check your car with special headphones, and sometimes you need to fix problems like a honk or a flat tire. There is also a cool invention station in the garage where you can build machines, explore new routes, refuel your car, and make areas unstable.

While you’re driving outside, your car may be attacked by metal monsters that will chew on your car. You can use a circular saw to get them off. There are also other challenges like electrical problems and obstacles that can interfere with your car’s electronics. The weather can also affect your car’s handling.

During exploration, you may find crafting recipes and blueprints to upgrade your vehicle. You can also discover notes, audio logs, and talk to other characters to escape the Olympic Forbidden Zone. To advance in the game, you need to collect energy cores in each level. However, when you do this, the world becomes more dangerous, enemies will attack, and big storms will begin.

Combining car repairs, crafting and exploration, this game takes you across the challenging Pacific Northwest. Looking for some nostalgia? NEWSTARS Education’s gaming articles revisit classic arcade games that a generation loved. Relive the excitement of the arcade era.
