The game was released on the Nintendo DS in Japan in 2007 and later in the West in 2008. It was also released on iOS and Android in 2016, on Nintendo 3DS in 2017, and is planned for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One in 2024.

In the game, you follow Apollo Justice, a new attorney who works with Phoenix Wright’s adopted daughter, Trcy. The story takes place seven years after the previous game. When Phoenix loses his law license, Apollo takes over the case with the goal of proving his client’s innocence. You investigate the case, interview witnesses, and use evidence to find out the truth.
