Armored Core 6: Rubicon Fire was critically acclaimed and earned critical acclaim, becoming the most acclaimed release in the series’ history.

Armored Core 6 gameplay

Armored Core VI places a heavy emphasis on mech-based vehicle combat, immersing players in the role of skilled pilots commanding the powerful mechs known as Armored Cores. The defining feature of the game is the extensive customization potential of these mechs, which is achieved through a variety of parts, allowing players to perfect and enhance the abilities of their mechs.

A notable highlight of the gameplay is the freedom players have to equip their mechs with a wide variety of weapons. The mech has weapon slots – one on each arm and two on the back – providing strategic depth as players build their combat gear.

The game retains the concept of the previous game and introduces the “Combat Ability Evaluation Plan” to provide players with an arena-like platform to showcase their skills and compete with other players. Successfully completing tasks accumulates in-game currency called points. Points awarded depend on achieved mission goals, unachieved goals may be deducted.

Armored Core VI is unique in that it eliminates the debt system present in earlier entries in the series, which previously resulted in monetary losses when missions were failed. Instead, players are now free to repeatedly attempt missions without fear of wasting resources. This design shift removes the impact of financial implications, incentivizing players to improve their performance and expect higher achievements.
