Founded in 1984, the Asian Cup is the premier cricket game among Asian countries. As of 2023, India led by eight championships, 1984, 1988, 1990-91, 1995, 1010, 2016, 2016, 2018 and 2023.

Sri Lanka followed closely with six championships, winning in 1986, 1997, 2004, 2008, 2014 and 2022. Pakistan won two trophys in 2000 and 2012.

Other participating countries such as Bangladesh and Afghanistan have not won the competition yet. The dominance of India and Sri Lanka emphasizes their cricket strength in the region.
