Baar Baar Dekho tells the story of Diya Kapoor and Jai Varma, childhood sweethearts with their own dreams. Jai is a mathematics professor who aspires to get a scholarship to Cambridge University, while Diya is an artist who dreams of living with her long-time boyfriend. Despite Jai’s initial reluctance, they decide to get married. However, Jai’s fear of traditional rituals and divorce makes him change his mind, causing a heartbreaking rift between them.
Jay suddenly wakes up on his honeymoon in Thailand to find that ten days have passed since his wedding, but he has no memory of what happened afterwards. The plot takes an interesting turn when Jay realizes that he is traveling through time uncontrollably. In 2018, he finds himself about to become a dad in Cambridge, two years after his marriage. The story then jumps to 2034, where Jay is a successful professor, but he wakes up to find that he and Diya are divorced, which makes him heartbroken.
To make up for his past mistakes, Jay travels back in time to 2023, seven years after his wedding. However, he puts work before his family and suffers the consequences, causing his relationship with Diya to become strained. Realizing the importance of balancing priorities, Jay is given another chance to right his wrongs. In 2047, he wakes up to find himself 60 years old and discovers the consequences of his previous actions – Diya has remarried and his family relationships have changed.
A meeting with the priest offers Jay one last chance to clean up his act. Returning to 2023, he ensures a positive outcome by spending quality time with his family, excelling at work, and making Diya feel special. The film ends with Jay waking up in the present, having learned the meaning of time and the importance of appreciating the present moment. He rushes back to Diya, reconciles with her, and promises to keep his promise, and the film ends with their joyous wedding celebration, symbolizing a renewed appreciation for the present moment.
