Baldur’s Gate 3: How to Get to Act 3?

“Baldur’s Gate 3”: How to enter the third act?

Baldur’s Gate 3 is a structured game, and entering the third act requires specific steps. Due to the design of the game, it is not possible to jump directly from Act One to Act Three. The transition from Act 2 to Act 3 is a key point in the game, and here’s how to do it:

1. Complete Act II by completing Moonrise Tower:

In Act II, as you advance through the story and reach the Last Light Inn, you will receive information about Moonrise Tower. This location is crucial to the overarching story of Act II. Delve deeper into the underground dungeon “Shar’s Challenge” related to this story. Ultimately, you’ll fight General Catheric Thom and conquer Moonrise Tower. The climax of these events marks the end of the second act.

2. Find your way to the Baldur’s Gate waypoint:

After completing the Catheric Thom questline and achieving victory at Moonrise Tower, your next goal is to find your way to the Baldur’s Gate waypoint. Start from the Moonrise Tower teleportation point north of the Moonrise Tower. Follow the path west until you reach a bridge near the edge of the map. Continue under the bridge, where you’ll find the waypoint and gateway to the third act.

3. Transition to Act III and wrap-up tasks:

Activate the waypoint to transition to the third act, where you’ll be faced with a big decision. Unlike Act 2 transitions, where you can still access Act 1 waypoints, entering Act 3 disables access to previous waypoints (including those in Act 2). So take the opportunity to complete any unfinished quests or explorations in Act 2 before continuing. Once you enter Baldur’s Gate in Act 3, quests such as finding Arabella’s parents, investigating the birthplace of the Githyanki Christ, and exploring the mind flayer colony become impossible.

The third act marks a new phase of the game, and the transition to Baldur’s Gate brings a sense of finality to the earlier storyline. So before embarking on this transition, make sure you’ve tied up any loose ends and completed the quests you won’t be able to complete once you venture into the heart of Baldur’s Gate.
