Although using a currency containing bound souls has moral implications, players can use soul coins as a bargaining tool or bribe within the game’s complex mechanics. As players adventure through this dark and immersive world, finding Soul Coins is both a rewarding challenge and an important aspect of the game’s storyline.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Soul Coin Locations
In Baldur’s Gate 3, there are currently four known locations where players can find Soul Coins.
druid jungle
The first location is the Druid Jungle, where players can obtain soul coins called Nadira from tieflings. If the players save her from an attack by the Bear Assassin, she may reward them with a Soul Coin after a dice check. Alternatively, if the players choose not to save her, they can loot her body.
damp crypt
The second location is inside the Damp Crypt, accessible through the door where the Shadow Heart is. A Soul Coin can be found on the floor near the first sarcophagus on the left. There is another Soul Coin in the crypt, in the room with the Book of the Dead to the right of another sarcophagus.
Blight Village Cottage

The third location is in a hut in Blight Village, where you can find Soul Coins on a box.
As of this writing, the purpose and significance of these Soul Coins in the game remains uncertain. While they come with a hefty price tag, players are advised to keep them in their inventory until their true significance is revealed in a future update or the full version of Baldur’s Gate 3.

How to get Baldur’s Gate 3 Soul Coins
Currently, there are only 4 Soul Coins available for players to earn in Baldur’s Gate 3, but this may change once the game exits Early Access. Each coin can be obtained by collecting them from different locations.
Damp Crypt:
From the roadside cliff pathpoint, head east to a dank crypt area in the overgrown ruins. Players can enter the tomb through the main door or by shooting the hanging rock at the church’s entrance and jumping down from the hole it creates. Once inside, they’ll encounter bandits to deal with. Players can also choose to unlock the hatch further east and enter the dank crypt directly, but this is a more challenging option. In the crypt, players will find the following soul coins:
The first coin is found in the room with the giant sarcophagus at the southern end of the Damp Crypt. It is specifically located in the right sarcophagus on the west side of the room.
The second coin is found in a sarcophagus in a side chamber to the west of the area, which contains a large statue and the buried body of an acolyte.

The third coin is found inside Weser’s sarcophagus, which is hidden in a room behind the large statue. The player needs to press a button to open the door, but this will wake the attendant. After defeating them, players can loot Weser’s coffin to obtain Soul Coins. Make sure to grab the Voiceless Amulet from the nearby chest, as it can communicate with the dead.
Druid or Jade Forest:
The fourth Soul Coin can be obtained by rescuing Nadira from the Bear Assassin in the Emerald Jungle. As the player approaches Nadira on top of the rock, an assassin will appear and a battle will ensue. Players can choose to save Nadira by defeating the assassin.
If Nadira survives, the player can use deception or feign ignorance before persuading or intimidating, to receive Soul Coins from her as a reward. Alternatively, if Nadira dies in combat, players may be able to loot the Soul Coin from her corpse, or possibly obtain it by pickpocketing her.
What does the soul coin do?
In Baldur’s Gate 3, Soul Coins have multiple uses. First, they can be used as currency in the hellish underworld. They power the Infernal Engines and may be used in trade and dealings between demons and other entities in the realm.
Secondly, certain characters (such as Karak) can spend soul coins to activate their abilities or increase their strength. For example, Karak can use Soul Coins to activate the Hell Machine within her, granting her the “Hell’s Wrath” status until she takes a long rest. This adds extra fire damage to her melee attacks when she is raging or below 25% health. Players should consider using Soul Coins wisely, as they may have other important uses or potential interactions later in the game.
