Black Ravens

The Black Crowes are a rock band from Atlanta, Georgia, formed in 1984. They have released eight studio albums, four live albums, and a number of hit singles. They signed a record deal in 1989 and released their first album, Shake Your Money Maker, in 1990. Their second album, The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion, topped the Billboard 200 chart in 1992.

They released several more albums, such as America (1994), Three Snakes and One Charm (1996), By Your Side (1999), and Lions (2001), but these albums did not achieve the same success as the first two. They took a break from 2002 to 2005, but returned to tour and released Warpaint in 2008, which performed well in the charts.

In 2010, they released a greatest hits/acoustic album and went on a 20th anniversary tour. They took another break but returned in 2019 for the 2020 tour, celebrating the 30th anniversary of Shake Your Money Maker. At that time, only Chris and Rich Robinson were left from the original lineup.

As of August 2023, the band consists of the Robinson brothers, long-time bassist Sven Pipien, and new members Nico Bereciartua (lead guitar), Cully Symington (drums), and Erik Deutsch (keyboards). Their latest album, Happiness Bastards, was released in March 2024.

The Black Crowes have sold over 30 million albums and are considered one of the greatest hard rock bands ever. Melody Maker magazine called them “the most rockin’ rock band in the world,” and in 1990, readers of Rolling Stone magazine voted them the best new American band.
