Brenton Wood’s career

Brenton Wood is a singer known for his 1960s pop songs. At first, his early songs didn’t take off. However, things changed when he signed with Double Shot Records. His song “The Oogum Boogum Song” became an instant hit, ranking No. 19 on the 1967 US Billboard R&B chart and No. 34 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song was also a hit in Southern California.

Soon after, his biggest hit, “Gimme Little Sign,” climbed to No. 9 on the pop charts and sold over 1 million copies. The song was a huge success, topping various music charts.

Another hit for Wood was “Baby You Got It,” which peaked at No. 34 on the Hot 100 in late 1967.

In 1972, Wood established his own record company and became a music entrepreneur. He released a funk-soul classic “Sticky Boom Boom” [Too Cold] Parts One and Two” with some other talented musicians.
