Cage the Elephant is an American rock band formed in Bowling Green, Kentucky in 2006. After moving to London in 2008, they released their self-titled debut album. Current members include Matt Shultz (vocals), Brad Shultz (rhythm guitar), Nick Bockrath (lead guitar), Matthan Minster (guitar, keyboards), Daniel Tichenor (bass), and Jared Champion (drums).

Their debut album was a huge success, with many hit singles receiving radio play, earning them a large fan base in the US and UK. Their music is influenced by classic rock, 90s alternative, blues, punk rock and funk. Lincoln Parish remained as lead guitarist until 2013 when he left on friendly terms to pursue a career in production. Their second album, Thank U and Happy Birthday, was released in 2011 and was inspired by punk rock, the Pixies and Nirvana.

Their third album, Melophobia, released in 2013, showcased the band’s efforts to establish a unique musical identity. In 2015, they released Tell Me I’m Pretty, produced by Dan Auerbach. The band followed that up with a live album, Unpeeled, in 2017. In 2019, they released their fifth studio album, Social Cues. Cage the Elephant has twice won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album: for Tell Me I’m Pretty in 2017 and for Social Cues in 2020.
