Desert Treasure 2 Walkthrough

Once you climb down, prepare to face the Ancient Guardian. This fight is instanced, so any dropped items will disappear after the battle. The guardian has 200 health and a shield that regenerates when not attacked with melee. Use melee attacks to deal faster damage, ignoring the shield. A pickaxe in your inventory (not equipped) is needed to deplete the rock shield.

After every five attacks, the guardian will rain rocks from above, dealing 15 to 25 damage if they hit you. Avoid damage by clicking on a tile without a shadow.

Note for pures: It’s impossible to drain the guardian’s shield without gaining Hitpoints experience. However, any melee style will work, allowing you to avoid gaining Attack, Strength, or Defence experience if desired. Non-melee methods are technically possible but require high-damage spells or ammunition, remaining in melee range, and having sufficient healing food or Saradomin brews.

Once you defeat the Ancient Guardian, Dr Banikan will appear and follow you in the cave. Inspect the golem machine further into the cave and then the nearby crates to get a stack of eight uncharged cells.

Proceed east to find an altar surrounded by four totems. Cast burst spells on each respective totem. Make sure not to splash while doing so. Once all four totems are activated, use the stack of cells on the altar to get charged cells. Bring these cells back to the golem in the center of the cave. Now, you’ll face a puzzle where you need to line up the eight cells on a grid. Be careful, as submitting a faulty solution will cause you to take 5-10 damage. The solution can be revealed by clicking “show.”

After restoring the golem, search for the terms “Vardorvis,” “Perseriya,” “Sucellus,” and “The Whisperer.” Additionally, you can find other Zaros-related pieces of lore like “azzanadra” and “ghorrock.”

Proving your Medal: Now, you’ll need to hunt for the medallions to unlock the Vault. Note that medallions are not bankable. As you attempt to return the first medallion, you might encounter a Mysterious Figure demanding it, but you can refuse and continue.

Vardorvis: Obtain melee gear and a slash weapon. Speak to Elissa, visit the Burning Man, and find the potion note south of the Hosidius Estate Agent. Travel to The Stranglewood, avoiding the Strangled enemies. Help Kasonde by building barricades and attacking the Strangled. Get ingredients from The Stranglewood for Kasonde’s potion. Defeat Vardorvis, retrieve the Temple key, and defeat Kasonde as well. Take the medallion to the Ancient Vault northeast of Nardah and use it on Vardorvis’ statue.

Perseriya: Obtain combat gear, Slayer helmet, food, and potions. Enter the Guardians of the Rift minigame, and go through The Scar. Complete puzzles and fight the Leviathan. Obtain Perseriya’s medallion and return to the Ancient Vault, placing it on the southeast statue.

Duke Sucellus: Go to the prison under Weiss dungeon. Escape the cell, solve puzzles, and find the Arder-musca poisons. Use the poisons on Duke Sucellus to start the fight. Beware of his attacks and weaknesses. After defeating him, obtain his key and open the chest in the next room to get his medallion. Place it on the southwest statue at the quest start location.

Be cautious of the Mysterious Figure, as it might attack you if you return home before placing the medallion on the statue. Exiting your home can help you escape the Stranger.

The Whisperer Walkthrough:

Requirements: Ring of Visibility, Stamina Potions, and at least 8 free inventory slots.

Start by heading towards Camdozaal, located west of Ice Mountain. Enter the Camdozaal ruins and speak to Ramarno, the dwarf inside the ruins.

The Silent Choir:

Ensure you have seen the remnant on the second floor of the inn. Enter the Residential District Shadow Realm portal and run to the Western building (the pub icon). Upstairs, there is a remnant. Acquire the Icon. For the Icon Segment (palm and thumb), enter the Residential District Shadow Realm portal and run west. Use the Superior Shadow Torch on tentacles in front of both South Western houses. Leave the Shadow Realm. Enter the rectangle South Western house and go to the south room. Pick up the shadow key from on top of the crate in the Southeast of the room. Go to the square South Western house and place the Shadow Blocker where it will protect you while opening the chest. Enter the Residential District Shadow Realm portal and return to the chest in the South Western square house.

For the Icon Segment (Fingers), enter the North Western most house of the Science District (opposite the cave where you got the Anima schematics). Pick up a shadow key from on top of a crate in the Northeastern corner of the room.

Enter the Science District Shadow Realm portal and run south. Use the Shadow Torch on the tentacles in front of the furthest South Eastern building. Leave the Shadow Realm. Return to the South Eastern building and place the Shadow Blocker where it will protect you while opening the chest. Enter the Science District Shadow Realm portal and open the chest you protected. Use either Icon segment on the other segment.

Return to Ketla in the Northern Residential District. Enter the Drain in the center of the Residential District. Go through the door in front of you and down the ladder to the east

Talk to the head archaeologist, Prescott, near the bank chest to receive a long rope. If he directs you to speak to the dwarf by the forge, talk to Ramarno in the center room instead. Attach the rope to the rock by the sinkhole in the northwest to enter the Lassar Undercity. Climb down. Go southeast out of the room and walk towards the Sunken Cathedral in the center of the larger room to trigger a cutscene with an Imcando dwarf. She will provide information about the Whisperer, the Ring of Visibility, and instructions on manipulating the Shadow Realm to create an anti-shadow device.

Use the map to locate transportation icons that will help you navigate the undercity easily. Activate these devices. Teleport to the North Science District and enter the Western building. Find the Shadow Blocker schematic on a barrel in the northeast room.

Teleport to the Western Residential District and enter the building just northeast of the pub. Use the schematic on Ketla and finish the dialogue. Search the workbench next to her.

The Shadow Realm is a separate dimension accessed by clicking on “Puddles” found throughout the undercity. In the Shadow Realm, you have a sanity meter that depletes. Use the Blackstone fragment to leave the Shadow Realm and allow the sanity meter to refill before going back in.

Stand on an adjacent tile to the Shadow Blocker to avoid taking damage from ghosts. Teleport to the Shadow Realm in the middle of the Science District. Run west to the dock and touch the Remnant to spawn a Shadow Demon. Defeat it. Click on the Remnant in the Shadow Realm, finish the dialogue, and return to the normal world. Acquire the Basic Shadow Torch Blueprint. Find it in the southwestern building of the Science District, on a table as you enter.

In the normal world, go into the house east of the Science District shadow realm portal. Place the Shadow Blocker next to the locked door to avoid damage from the ghost while the key takes time to open the door.

Enter the Shadow Realm and use the key on the door where you placed the Shadow Blocker. Head to the north room and pick up the Basic Shadow Torch schematic. Take the Blueprint to Ketla in the Western Residential District. Search and take the Shadow Torch from the workbench.

Acquire the Revitalizing Idol Blueprint. Enter the Shadow Realm in the Residential District and use the Basic Shadow Torch on the tentacles directly southeast of the portal. Leave the Shadow Realm.

Enter the doors you cleared of tentacles and take the Revitalizing Idol schematic from the crate in front of the stairs in the north of the building. Take the Blueprint to Ketla in the Western Residential District. Search and take the Revitalizing Idol from the workbench.

Acquire the Superior Shadow Torch Blueprint. Go through the southeastern house of the Residential District and activate the teleporter. While there, place the Revitalizing Idol near the building north of the teleporter.

Enter the Residential District Shadow Realm and run towards the teleporter icon. Use the placed Revitalizing Idol and head to the “back” door of the larger Northeastern building. Use the Basic Shadow Torch on the tentacles and pick up the key in the North West room. Leave the Shadow Realm.

Place the Shadow Blocker in front of the locked doors of the westernmost building in the Residential District. Enter the Residential District Shadow Realm and run to the locked doors of the westernmost building. Use the key on the doors and leave the Shadow Realm. Return to the unlocked doors, go through, and take the Superior Shadow Torch schematics from the table to the south. Take the Blueprint to Ketla in the Northern Residential District. Search and take the tool from the workbench. Acquire the Anima Portal Blueprint. Enter the Science District Shadow Realm portal, run west then north up the stairs, and use the Superior Torch on the tentacles. Pick up the Anima Portal schematic.

Take the Blueprint to Ketla in the Northern Residential District. Search and take the item from the workbench. Acquire the Perfected Shadow Torch Blueprint. Enter the Science District Shadow Realm portal and run to the doors of the northeastern Science District building. Use the Superior Shadow Torch on the tentacles and go west through the building. Take the key from the north table of the outside area. Leave the Shadow Realm. Place the Shadow Blocker where it will cover you while opening the chest in the northwest of the Palace room. Place the Anima Portal north of the throne within the Palace, roughly in the center of the grey area, to attract nearby ghosts. Place the Revitalizing Idol south of the throne.

Enter the Shadow Realm from “The Plaza” portal and run northwest to the Palace. Use the Revitalizing Idol. Light the four Braziers around the chest in the northwest of the Palace. If any nearby ghosts are not attacking the Anima Portal, they will put out the lit Braziers. Leave the Shadow Realm and reposition the Anima Portal to a location that will collect all nearby ghosts. Open the chest and take the Blueprint to Ketla in the Northern Residential District.

Desert Treasure 2 Bosses

Exciting news awaits adventurers as the post-quest bosses in Desert Treasure II are about to receive a challenging upgrade. Players have eagerly voted in favor of introducing tougher, aspirational versions of these bosses, and the developers are thrilled to announce the development of these formidable foes, known as Awakened variants.

In the coming weeks (with the exact date yet to be determined), players will have the opportunity to face Awakened versions of each of the four post-quest bosses. To access these challenging encounters, players must acquire Awakener’s Orbs, which act as tradeable “keys.” These special orbs can be obtained as drops from the regular versions of the bosses.

While the Awakened bosses won’t be immediately available upon the quest’s launch, players can start acquiring Awakener’s Orbs right away. This gives them the chance to stock up on these valuable items while they prepare themselves for the upcoming epic battles.

Defeating the Awakened variant of all four bosses will grant players a much-coveted reward – the Blood Torva kit. This kit allows players to transform all of their Torva armor pieces into the striking Blood Torva, fulfilling the requests of many adventurers eager to obtain this impressive appearance.

The development team has plenty of ideas for these challenging encounters, but they’re keeping the details under wraps until players get the chance to face them firsthand. As players anticipate the upcoming battles, they are encouraged to gather their Awakener’s Orbs, prepare their strategies, and brace themselves for the thrilling challenge that lies ahead.

Best of luck to all adventurers in their quest to conquer the Awakened bosses, and may the battles be both rewarding and exhilarating!

Desert Treasure 2 Rewards

Ring of Shadows

The Ring of Shadows offers various boss teleports and offensive stats for players who are cautious with their GP. It is untradeable, but players can reobtain it for a fee if lost.

Four New Rings

Defeating Duke Sucellus, Vardorvis, the Leviathan, and the Whisperer will yield upgrade components to create powerful new tradeable rings – Bellator, Magus, Ultor, and Venator rings, respectively.

Vestiges and Crafting

Each boss drops an untradeable vestige, which can be made tradeable by combining it with specific bars and a Fremennik Icon. Players will need 90 Magic and 80 Crafting (boostable) to craft these new rings.

Virtus Robes

The Virtus Robes, tradeable and not requiring quest completion, offer significant boosts to Ancient Magick’s damage, bridging the gap between Ahrim’s Robes and Ancestral when using standard spells or powered staves.

Soulreaper Axe

The Soulreaper Axe is a powerful 2-handed weapon that grants a +6% Strength boost per “Mighty Stack” (up to five stacks), but also damages the player for 8 Hitpoints per attack. Its special attack, Behead, consumes Mighty Stacks for increased accuracy and healing.

  • Ancient Sceptre Upgrades: Each post-quest boss drops an untradeable Sigil corresponding to their Ancient element (blood, ice, shadow, or smoke). Combining these Sigils with an Ancient Sceptre creates the Blood/Ice/Shadow/Smoke Ancient Sceptre, imbuing it with new effects.
    • Blood Ancient Sceptre: Blood magic can overheal the player by 10% of their Hitpoints.
    • Ice Ancient Sceptre: Ice magic gains 10% accuracy on unfrozen, freezable targets.
    • Shadow Ancient Sceptre: Shadow spells drain Strength and Defence in addition to the target’s Attack level.
    • Smoke Ancient Sceptre: Smoke spells reduce healing received by 20% for 10 cycles on hit if the target is poisoned.
  • Repair and Magic Requirement: Upgraded Ancient Sceptres require 75 Magic (in addition to 60 Strength and 50 Attack) to equip. The Ancient scepter and its upgrades will behave similarly to other untraceable ones on death in PvP and will have a repair cost.

These powerful rewards await those brave enough to conquer the challenges and mysteries of Desert Treasure II – The Fallen Empire in Old School RuneScape. Good luck with your adventure!
