Does Pax Dei Have Traditional Classes? – Answered

I love the big barbarian or warrior class in RPGs, especially MMORPGs, because I can draw all the attacks, absorb the damage, and deal damage to myself in the same way. But many games are changing the way their class systems work, so does Pax Dei have traditional classes?

Can you take traditional classes at Pax Dei?

Unlike more popular MMORPGs like Elder Scrolls Online, World of Warcraft, and Final Fantasy 14, Pax Dei takes a completely different approach. Instead of traditional classes, they opted for a classless system. You won’t choose to play as a warrior, ranger, or druid. Instead, you’ll build your own character and adapt to enemy encounters and dungeons as you go.

However, Pax Dei does have roles. This MMORPG offers the trinity of roles – tank, healer/support, DPS, just like other popular games in the genre. If you want to play the role of a tank and help your team clear dungeons from the front, this is an option. If you prefer to support a damage dealer with buffs and healing spells, Pax Dei allows you to specialize.

There’s enough familiarity here to appeal to longtime genre fans, but the changes create a more unique approach that should prove interesting and fresh!

Are there other ethnicities in Pax Dei?

We all have our favorite races in our favorite MMORPGs. For me, the orcs or dwarves in World of Warcraft are my favorite races. I choose orcs or dwarves depending on my mood that month. But Pax Dei breaks the mold again. Instead of a few fantasy races or even just a bunch of humans from different regions, everyone in the game plays as a human. There are no other races to choose from when creating a character.

By mixing weapons, armor, skills, and magic, you’ll create a “class” for yourself and venture into the world of Pax Dei with other people who are all searching for their place in the world. It’s an interesting premise, and we’re excited to get our hands on it when the game enters Early Access on June 18th!
