Elf Concert 2023 Overview

Elf is a musical based on the film of the same name, with music composed by Matthew Sklar and Chad Beglin. The stage adaptation was written by Bob Martin and Thomas Meehan, based on the 2003 film. The musical successfully ran on Broadway in the 2010-11 and 2012-13 Christmas seasons, and in London’s West End in the 2015-16 season. Additionally, it often travels extensively during the holidays.

The story follows Buddy Hobbs, a young orphan who accidentally gets into Santa’s gift bag and is magically transported to the North Pole. As time passes, Buddy learns that he is actually a human and, with the encouragement of Santa Claus, embarks on a journey to New York City to find his father, Walter Hobbes.

However, Buddy is faced with a harsh reality: Walter is on Santa’s naughty list, and his son Michael doesn’t even believe in Santa’s existence. Undeterred, Buddy is determined to reconnect with his biological family and help bustling New York City rediscover the true nature of Christmas.
