Every Brady Noon Movie And TV Show, Ranked

Every Brady Noon movie and TV show so far reveals a different aspect of the young star’s acting range, with his talents just as prominent whether in a live-action role or using his vocal talents in animation. Born in New Jersey in 2005, Brady Noon’s career started at an incredibly young age when he appeared as Thomas Darmody in HBO’s Boardwalk Empire in 2010. Appearing on the show from seasons 1-4, Brady then took a break for a few years before returning in 2019 to kickstart his career.

2019 saw Brady Noon appear in his first feature-length film, Good Boys, his first acting role since leaving Boardwalk Empire in 2013. From there he began landing central roles with ease, starring as a central cast member in a new movie or TV show every following year. Brady Noon’s best movies and TV shows highlight his unique abilities and hint that his success on both the big and small screens is far from over.

Based on Atlantic City in the 1920s and 1930s, Boardwalk Empire follows political heavyweight “Nucky” Thompson as he battles mobsters, politicians, government agents, and the common folk who look to take him on. Now, with the federal government cracking down on bootlegging and other illegal activities, and everyone looking to take over control of the city, Nucky’s lavish lifestyle is in danger of collapsing.

As a show in its own right, HBO’s Boardwalk Empire is perhaps stronger than many of the higher-ranking entries among Brady Noon’s movies and TV shows. However, since Noon appeared in the show at such a young age (he was only around 5 years old during his first appearance), it doesn’t stand out as a display of his current abilities. What’s more, his role of Thomas Darmody was also split with his brother, Connor.

Brady Noon’s Boardwalk Empire character, Thomas Darmody, was the infant son of Michael Pitt’s Jimmy Darmody and Aleksa Palladino’s Angela. Noon appeared in Boardwalk Empire from seasons 1-4, and while the role was a minor one (especially given his age), it did manage to get him noticed. He and his brother, Connor Noon, were co-nominated for Best Performance in a TV Series – Recurring Young Actor at the 33rd Young Artist Awards in 2012 which, considering his age at the time, was a strong indicator that Brady Noon had a successful future ahead of him.

Family Switch is a 2023 Christmas-centric family comedy film by director McG (Joseph McGinty Nichol) created for Netflix and based on a children’s book by author Amy Krouse Rosenthal. A family trip beset with drama drives into chaos when a strange cosmic event forces the parents to switch places with their teenaged children only days before the Christmas holiday.

The 2023 body-swap comedy Family Switch comes from director McG (real name Joseph McGinty Nichol, known for Charlie’s Angels, Terminator Salvation, and The Babysitter). It also marks Brady Noon’s second live-action feature film role after 2019’s Good Boys, and sees him star as part of an ensemble cast that also includes Jennifer Garner, Ed Helms, and Emma Myers.

The premise of the movie is relatively straightforward – the dysfunctional Walker family find themselves swapped into one another’s bodies after visiting an observatory during a rare planetary alignment. Brady’s Wyatt finds himself in his father’s body, with his father, Bill, in his. This allowed Brady Noon to display his talent for live-action comedy roles, as his performance as an adult man trapped in the body of a teenage boy is nothing short of hilarious. While the response from critics was somewhat mixed, Family Switch still remains a solid early outing in live-action comedy movies when it comes to Brady Noon’s wider career.

Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules (2022)

Brady Noon Plays Greg Heffley

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules promo featuring Rodrick in his van.

2022’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules marks the second time that Brady Noon stepped up to voice Greg Heffley, the titular wimpy kid in the franchise based on the novels by Jeff Kinney. Directed by Luke Cormican with franchise author Jeff Kinney writing the script, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules was released directly to Disney+.

While Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules was entertaining for younger viewers, the critical response was somewhat mixed. Still, this doesn’t detract from the solid vocal performance of Brady Noon, and the sequel to 2021’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid is yet another example among his best movies and TV shows that highlights his talent for animated projects. The third Disney+ animated Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie, Diary of a Wimpy Kid Christmas: Cabin Fever, released in 2023 and was better received, though Noon didn’t return to reprise the role of Greg.

2021 saw the release of a reimagined version of Diary of a Wimpy Kid, with a 3D animated film directed by Swinton Scott. The release was written and produced by Jeff Kinney, the creator of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid novel. Playing on Disney+, the film sees Rodrick giving his younger brother Greg advice on how to best survive Middle School.

Brady Noon may have given a solid performance when he returned to reprise the role of Greg in the 2022 sequel, it was 2021’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid that remains the better film, and therefore warrants a higher place among the best Brady Noon movies (though it’s incredibly close). Adapting the Diary of a Wimpy Kid novel by Jeff Kinney (who also wrote the screenplay), Brady Noon introduced a new generation of fans to Greg and his attempts to make it through middle school despite being something of a coward.

Greg Heffley was an important career milestone for Brady Noon, as it allowed him to display his incredible talents as a voice actor, and also his suitability for leading the cast of a well-known franchise. While he’d later go on to surpass his performance, Diary of a Wimpy Kid remains essential viewing for fans looking to experience the roles that helped secure Brady Noon parts like Raphael in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.

The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers is a Disney+ series that follows Evan Morrow, who, after being cut from the now hyper-competitive Mighty Ducks junior hockey team, sets out with his mother to form a new team of underdogs. Starring Lauren Graham and Emilio Estevez, the show explores themes of teamwork, perseverance, and the joy of playing sports for fun rather than just for victory.

While it may have been canceled by Disney after only two seasons, The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers still stands strong as one of the best Brady Moon TV shows. The sports dramedy followed on from the beloved 1992 ice-hockey movie The Mighty Ducks, with Emilio Estevez returning to reprise his role as Gordon Bombay, the team’s original coach (though only during the first season).

Brady Noon found himself as a central cast member in The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, playing Evan Morrow, the son of the team’s coach, Alex (Lauren Graham). Interestingly, the titular team of The Mighty Ducks are portrayed as antagonists in the show, with Alex forming her own team, The Don’t Bothers, after Evan is cut from the Ducks roster. It’s a heartwarming role that saw Noon gave a solid and emotive performance, even if the show as a whole didn’t quite resonate with fans of the 1992 original.

2019’s Good Boys is a coming-of-age comedy from director Gene Stupnitsky. Not only was the movie Stupnitsky’s directorial debut, but it also marks Brady Noon’s first appearance in a feature film (and his return to screens after appearing in Boardwalk Empire). In Good Boys Brady Noon plays Thor, one of three friends in the 6th grade trying to overcome their individual problems.

For Brady Noon’s Thor, life’s biggest challenge is bullying from his fellow students, which prevents him from having the confidence to pursue his true passion – singing. Good Boys featured a solid performance not only from Noon but also from his co-stars, Jacob Tremblay as Max and Keith L. Williams as Lucas. The film was also produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, and working with the pair likely helped pave the way for Noon to land the role he’d take up in his best movie, and the TV spinoff that followed.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is an animated film in the enduring action-comedy franchise. Directed by Jeff Rowe, the movie follows the iconic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles—Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael—alongside their mentor Splinter, as they confront new adversaries and navigate their teenage years. The film combines humor and action while maintaining the core themes of the beloved series.

Brady Noon is no stranger to voice acting thanks to his portrayal of Greg in Diary of a Wimpy Kid and the sequel, and it’s these skills that also mark his best movie overall. 2023’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is the 2023 reimagining of the TMNT franchise from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Not only does Mutant Mayhem have a unique animation style, but it’s the first time that TMNT were voiced by actual teenagers – including Brady Noon as Raphael.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem was released to widespread critical and audience acclaim, with many feeling it was the most innovative iteration of the franchise to date. The movie had an incredible amount of heart and no shortage of comedy. The performances of Brady Noon, alongside Micah Abbey (Donatello), Shamon Brown Jr. (Michelangelo), and Nicolas Cantu (Leonardo), were praised. What’s more, many of the best lines in the movie were improvised, as the four recorded their lines together and were given the freedom to adlib.

A spin-off of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is an animated action-adventure series that sees the titular heroic turtles strike out on their own in an all-new storyline penned for television. Voice actors Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu, and Brady Noon will return to reprise their roles as the four turtles.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem may be the best Brady Noon movie, but the TV show spinoff, 2024’s Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is his best TV show and performance overall. The reasons why are relatively clear – Noon gave an incredibly solid performance as Raphael, and Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles saw him reprise it. However, rather than being limited to a 99-minute runtime, Brady Noon’s hilarious portrayal of Raphael can be enjoyed for 12 20+ minute episodes.

While the series lacked the spontaneous ad-libs with his co-stars that made Mutant Mayhem so great (since Noon, Abbey, Brown Jr., and Cantu recorded separately), the show had the same balance of heart and humor – as evidenced by its solid 100% Rotten Tomatoes score. Brady Noon once again shines in Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, turning Raphael from an often-overlooked character into one of the most memorable members of the heroes in a half-shell, just as he did in Mutant Mayhem.
