trend

original gameplay

Exoprimal ventures into the realm of “player versus player versus environment” gameplay, creating a unique experience where players take on the role of an Exofighter, split into two competing teams. The key to the game is the relentless race to achieve a goal, with each team striving to achieve victory.

Central to this dynamic are the various exoskeleton suits, each with different weapons and abilities that can be conveniently divided into three distinct character classes: Assault, Tank, and Support. The character roster showcases interesting characters like Barricade, who features tank-like attributes and shows off a powerful shield.

In contrast, the mysterious Witch Doctor plays a support role, possessing the ability to heal other players’ wounds. Barrage, meanwhile, takes on the role of explosives expert, adding an element of controlled chaos to the mix. Notably, players have the flexibility to switch between these categories mid-game. This adaptability is further amplified by the concept of “gear”, which is an enhancement that grafts the abilities of an alternative class onto a character.

Progression is tied to the Survival Pass, which allows players to unlock a treasure trove of cosmetics and skins for exteriors and weapons. The core of Exoprimal’s gameplay is encapsulated in the Dinosaur Survival mode. In this mode, two teams (each consisting of five players) compete in an intense race to carry out objectives assigned by the powerful Leviathan.

The fight is set against the backdrop of a world filled with dinosaurs spit out from mysterious vortexes. Formidable opponents include the iconic Tyrannosaurus Rex, Triceratops and the agile Pteranodon. However, the stakes get even higher with the emergence of “New Dragons,” prehistoric creatures that have undergone mutations and gained unique fighting abilities.

Navigation in the game requires mastering various challenges, including “Dinosaur Culling” (a mission that requires the elimination of a specific species of dinosaur) and “VTOL Defense” (a trial that requires protecting a grounded aircraft from marauding dinosaurs).

In these efforts, players accumulate valuable experience points, a currency that can enhance their characters and unlock further narrative missions. Game director Takuro Hiraoka explains that players’ alliances are constantly tested as comrades they once fought alongside may become rivals in certain circumstances.

Within the intricate tapestry of Exoprimal, multifaceted gameplay weaves together team dynamics, versatile exoskeletons, pulsating objectives, and the timeless challenges of a primal world filled with ancient threats.

Original game plot

In the not-too-distant year 2040, Earth becomes the stage for the emergence of an interdimensional portal known as the “Vortex.” These portals unleash waves of aggressive dinosaurs and genetically modified creatures known as “Neosaurs”, causing worldwide mayhem.

Humanity has responded to this threat by deploying “exoskeleton warriors,” specially equipped soldiers equipped with advanced exoskeleton suits made by the company Abius. At the same time, Albius developed “Leviathan”, a complex artificial intelligence designed to enhance the operations of exofighters and predict the location of upcoming vortices. The fight unfolds as mercenaries and private military entities compete to exploit valuable data.

In 2043, Patrol Team #52585, also known as the “Hammerheads,” embark on a mission that thrusts them into a vortex, transporting them to the mysterious island of Bikitoa in an alternate timeline. Ace, the team’s rookie warrior, forms a key connection with Magnum, an experienced warrior who becomes an ally. However, Leviathan, a former ally, turned to rebellion by planning “war games”.

The games involve combat trials that send participants back to the year 2040, requiring them to fight off an invasion of dinosaurs and new dinosaurs through a vortex caused by a rogue Leviathan. Amid this chaos, Ace, with the support of Magnum and the Hammerheads, embarks on a double mission: participating in the war games and uncovering Leviathan’s mysterious agenda.
