Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a video game produced by Square Enix in 2024. It is a sequel to 2020’s Final Fantasy VII Remake, the second in a trilogy series that remakes the 1997 game Final Fantasy VII.

This game is an action role-playing game that combines real-time action with strategy and role-playing. The plot of the game follows the plot of the “Remake”. The player controls the mercenary Claude Strife and an organization called “Avalanche”. They travel around the world to stop the Shinra Corporation from using the life essence of the planet, Lifestream, as an energy source. They also try to defeat the powerful enemy Sephiroth, who wants to join the planet to gain more power.

“Rebirth” began production in November 2019, long before the release of “Remake”. The film was announced to start shooting in June 2022. Many people involved in the production of “Remake” also participated in the production of “Rebirth”, but the roles were slightly changed.

The game was released on PlayStation 5 on February 29, 2024, and received positive reviews from critics.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth creator forced to stop playing The Legend of Zelda

During the development of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, game producer Yoshinori Kitase revealed that he had to stop playing The Legend of Zelda: Kingdom Tears. Kitase took a break from playing in order to focus on his responsibilities in completing the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy.

Kitase expressed his love for the Zelda series, citing 1986’s The Legend of Zelda as one of the first games that sparked his interest in gaming. Although he has played most of the Zelda games, Kitase admitted that he has not yet finished the latest entry in the series, Kingdom of Tears.

Kitase began playing Kingdom of Tears after its release in May 2023, gradually working his way toward what he calls the ending. However, his growing involvement with the production of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth caused him to pause his Zelda adventure before reaching the ending.

Despite not finishing Kingdom Tears, Kitase said he enjoyed playing Pikmin 4 a second time, another game he enjoyed playing. He emphasized that he was happy to play Pikmin 4 again to discover elements he missed during his first playthrough of Pikmin 4, especially liking the game’s eponymous creatures.

Kitase’s experience illustrates the challenges developers face in balancing personal interests with professional obligations. While he’s had to put Kingdom of Tears on hold for now, the completion of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth may provide Kitase with the opportunity to restart and potentially complete his Zelda journey.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth gameplay

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a thrilling action-RPG game from Square Enix that continues the epic saga of Cloud Strife and his allies. The game builds on the success of its predecessor, deftly combining real-time action with strategy and role-playing elements.

In this adventure, players will control the highly skilled mercenary Claude Strife and lead a diverse team, mainly composed of members of the environmental activist group AVALANCHE. The story takes place after the events of Final Fantasy VII Remake, and players will embark on a mission across the giant planet. Their goal is to thwart the conspiracy of Shinra, a powerful mega-corporation that aims to use the essence of life known as the Lifestream as an energy source. At the same time, they will also have to fight against the powerful Sephiroth, a former elite soldier who seeks to merge with the planet to increase his power.

Rebirth’s gameplay blends real-time exploration and combat to ensure players have an engaging experience. Game mechanics include a more open upper world that allows players to explore freely. Objective markers guide players through the main quest and side quests, providing a sense of direction in the vast world. In addition, players can ride Chocobos across the terrain, which is a faster way to travel.

The game’s combat system combines physical attacks, magical abilities, and an Active Time Battle (ATB) system. Characters can be seamlessly switched during gameplay, and the “synergy” mechanic allows for synchronized attacks, at the expense of a slower ATB bar filling. Overall, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth invites players on a fascinating journey filled with strategic challenges, a rich story, and a visually stunning world.
