Prime Rocky Balboa Vs. Prime Adonis Creed
The Two Fighters Need To Be At Their Best
Close
The Rocky franchise has always been about fighting, constantly throwing characters into the ring to see if they can deal with Rocky Balboa. This has only continued as the series was taken over by Adonis Creed, son of Rocky’s longtime rival Apollo Creed. In their prime, both Rocky and Adonis were incredible athletes, and though they do not win every fight they enter in, each time they give it their all.
There are nine films in the Rocky series, beginning with the original Rocky film in 1976.
The question of whether Rocky or Adonis would win in their prime has plagued viewers since the first Creed, wondering who was the better athlete at the end of the day. Adonis has a better record overall, but Rocky participated in many more fights. It is a difficult question to answer, leaving fans to balance franchise nostalgia with the actual numbers and statistics.

James Bond Vs. Harry Hart
The Two Spies Are Iconic In Their Own Ways
Close
James Bond has stood as an icon of the cinema industry for decades, synonymous with the idea of the British spy. However, in more recent years, another spy has risen with the Kingsman film series, with Harry Hart’s amazing introduction being one of the most notable moments in recent spy movies. The two are both incredibly intelligent, leading to the natural comparison between the two despite the vastly different tones of the franchises.

James Bond is more of a solitary figure, while Harry Hart is a mentor. Both are seen putting their spy skills to full use, using fancy gadgets to save the day and create a spectacle for viewers to watch and enjoy. If the two of them were ever to be put on opposite sides, the difference that would determine who inevitably won is not in their skills as spies, but instead their resilience as survivors.

The Terminator Vs. John J. Rambo
These Two Were Staples Of The 80s

Involving another well-known Sylvester Stallone character, both The Terminator and John Rambo are staples of 80s action films. The Terminator is a cyborg sent from the future, complete with massive firepower and the ability to shrug off wounds like they are nothing. This stands in stark contrast to Rambo, who, despite having superior battlefield knowledge, is still only human.
If Rambo were to find himself in a situation that forced him against The Terminator, there would certainly be a chance, especially considering his experience as a soldier.
Even though Rambo is only human, The Terminator has been defeated by humans before. After all, that is the entire plot of the original The Terminator movie, aptly named after the terrifying robot that chases down the protagonists throughout the film. If Rambo were to find himself in a situation that forced him against The Terminator, there would certainly be a chance, especially considering his experience as a soldier.

Pennywise Vs. Art The Clown
They Are The Most Terrifying Clowns In Film
Close
Quite possibly the two most terrifying clowns ever conceived, Pennywise and Art the Clown are best known for their abilities to terrorize both the audience and the characters unfortunate enough to be written into their films. Despite its appearance, Pennywise is actually a shapeshifting entity that feeds on fear. Art the Clown, on the other hand, is much more ambiguous, but he also holds a certain number of supernatural abilities.
Seeing the two killer clowns face off would be a sight to behold, especially considering that the two of them can essentially break the world around them. Both of them seem to run on fear, but Pennywise possesses a notable weakness to courage that Art simply does not have. In fact, Art might be the de facto winner of any fight between the two, simply because he would not be afraid of Pennywise.

Aragorn Vs. Jaime Lannister
These Two Are Very Different Takes On The Knightly Archetype
Close
The Lord of the Rings and A Song of Ice and Fire are two of the most well-known fantasy series ever made, and both received incredibly successful screen adaptations. Aragorn, King of Arnor and Gondor, is the picture of knightly chivalry, doing what is right for his kingdom and involving himself in saving Middle-earth. While Jaime Lannister can sometimes be found on the right side of the fight for the Iron Throne, he is a much more selfish character, willing to do anything if it assures his own safety.
Though the Game of Thrones television series has finished, the books are still ongoing, with the most recent novel published being A Dance with Dragons, which was released in 2011.
Both characters are excellent combatants, trained to excel with the sword. This continues to be true even after Jaime loses his hand, and he remains a threat in a fight despite being unable to use both hands effectively. The difference that truly lies between the two of them is how dedicated to their fight the two of them really are, as Aragorn is far more likely to stick with something to the very end than Jaime is.

John Wick Vs. Hutch Mansell
Two Action Blockbusters Could Collide
Close
John Wick has rapidly grown to become one of the biggest action movie franchises in the last decade, but one character that could give John a run for his money is Hutch Mansell from the movie Nobody. Played to perfection by Bob Odenkirk, Hutch begins the movie in much the same way as John. Both are retired men with deadly abilities, drawn into action once again by an outside force.
It is clear from the beginning that both John and Hutch are great fighters on a technical level, capable of taking out even the most difficult of enemies. However, John has access to cartoonish levels of firepower through the use of The Continental, as well as a variety of other contacts. With this asset on his side, it would be difficult for Hutch to overcome the sheer level of weaponry John has access to.

Sherlock Holmes Vs. The Doctor
The Battle Of Wits Between These Two Would Be Legendary
Close
Sherlock Holmes is a character who transcends film and television, beginning as a mainstay of Arthur Conan Doyle’s stories. The Doctor transcends television in a similar way, standing as one of the longest-running science fiction series ever made. The two characters have gone through so many iterations that it is difficult to keep track, but one thing that remains consistent is their ability to solve mysteries wherever they go.

While The Doctor might seem to have the immediate advantage, living for so long and having access to such incredible technology, Sherlock’s intellect might actually give him the advantage. If Sherlock had access to the same sort of technology and information that The Doctor did, the line between who would come out victorious would be much blurrier. It would be a battle of wits for the history books, making for incredible television to watch.

The Winchesters Vs. Lestat De Lioncourt
It Would Be One Of The Winchesters’ Toughest Hunts
Close
Interview with the Vampire is a dynamic exploration of horror and trauma, told through the lens of the series’ vampiric protagonists. This is a much different premise than that of the long-running series Supernatural, which is more about hunting the creatures that go bump in the night than it is about understanding them. The series stars brothers Sam and Dean Winchester, known for their abilities to hunt down vampires, werewolves, and even demons.
Throughout Interview with the Vampire, Lestat de Lioncourt is presented as a master manipulator, capable of bending people to his will through sheer charismatic charm. Not only this, but he has also escaped what should have been certain death, knowing when to appear and when to stay hidden. He would be difficult for the Winchester brothers to hunt down, both because of his powers and because of his silver tongue.
2
Albus Dumbledore Vs. Gandalf
They Are The Most Recognizable Wizards Of All Time
Close
At first glance, Albus Dumbledore and Gandalf share plenty of similarities. The two are both elderly wizards, both with long hair and glorious beards. The two also wear similarly themed outfits, featuring powerful spells and a generally jolly disposition that leads them to be professorial and almost fatherly figures to the protagonists in their respective franchises.
Despite the massive similarities between the two, both in appearance and in the functions they serve in their respective stories, Gandalf may have the advantage over Dumbledore. Both characters do die throughout their stories, but when Dumbledore is slain forever, Gandalf rises once again. He becomes Gandalf the White, growing both in power and acclaim.
1
Anakin Skywalker Vs. Paul Atreides
These Sci-Fi Icons Both Follow Similar Paths, But Only One Can Win In A Fight
Close
Two of the most bombastic figures in all science fiction pop culture, Anakin Skywalker and Paul Atreides walk very similar paths throughout their feature sagas. Both are emotional men who must rise to power, learning the ways of the people they have chosen to be with. More than that, both are considered to be the Chosen One for a variety of different reasons.
Anakin’s fall to the Sith as he becomes Darth Vader is one that sees his power grow exponentially, with plenty of moments throughout the franchise left only to show how dangerous he really is. The same is never really done for Paul, whose power lies with his ability to coerce and see the future. If the two were to meet as enemies, it would be difficult to call, especially considering Paul’s powers of coercion and concern for the future are similar to those of Darth Sidious himself.
