Green Day new album release date 2024

Iconic punk rock band Green Day have announced that their highly anticipated 14th studio album Saviors will be released on January 19, 2024. It’s their first album since 2020’s Father of All Motherf—ers and promises to bring a new wave of anthems to their fans.

The band’s return was heralded by the release of their single “The American Dream Is Killing Me,” which set the tone for the album. The song criticizes the traditional American dream, highlighting its failure to benefit many people in society. The second song, “Look Ma, No Brains!,” premiered to a sold-out Las Vegas venue and showcases the band’s signature high-energy, infectious rock sound.

The album reunites Green Day with longtime producer Rob Cavallo, creating a nostalgic connection as Cavallo produced their 1994 breakthrough album Dookie. To commemorate the anniversary of “Dookie,” we hosted a surprise show from start to finish in Las Vegas, where the album was played. Savirs is expected to encapsulate the essence of the band, reflecting their journey over the past 30+ years. Described as raw, emotional, funny and disturbing, the album promises to be honest, vulnerable and reflective of their collective ethos.

The release will feature an exclusive vinyl release with eye-catching visuals, available in limited quantities in Neon Pink with a Neon Green splash or Black Ice with a Hot Pink splash. The band’s music video for “The American Dream Is Killing Me,” shot in Los Angeles, depicts a zombie-apocalyptic universe that reflects the pain of America’s social challenges, from social media to unemployment and the housing crisis.

Green Day will perform on Amazon Music’s live concert series and has plans for a North American stadium tour in 2024 with the Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid and The Linda Lindas. Overall, the album is a highly anticipated release that blends social commentary, a vibrant rock sound, and a celebration of the band’s enduring legacy. Fans can expect a blend of nostalgia and modernity in Green Day’s “Savior.”

Green Day is a rock band from California, formed in 1987 by Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt. Originally known as Blood Rage and later Sweet Children, they established themselves in the Bay Area punk scene of the late 1980s and early 1990s at the 924 Gilman Street club in Berkeley.

Their early music appears in Lookout! Record. In 1994, their album “Dookie” became a hit, selling more than 10 million copies in the United States. This success, along with bands like Bad Religion and The Offspring, helped bring punk rock to a wider audience in the United States.

While their albums “Insomniac”, “Nimrod” and “Warning” didn’t reach the level of “Dookie”, they were still successful. “American Idiot,” released in 2004, is a popular rock opera among young fans and has sold millions of copies.
