Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti is the birth anniversary of the tenth Sikh Guru Gobind Singh Ji, dated January 2025 6th. This day marks the 358th anniversary of his birth, which is believed to be January 1, 1666. to the Julian calendar.

This date was later converted to the Gregorian calendar for contemporary observance. Guru Gobind Singh was born in Patna Sahib, Bihar. His father, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, died defending religious freedom and became the leader of the Sikhs at the age of nine.

In 1699, he established Khalsa Pant with great ceremony at Anandpur Sahib. These included a dramatic initiation ceremony in which he called for volunteers and eventually established a collective group of initiated Sikhs called the Khalsa, which emphasized bravery and selflessness.
