Lamb worship gameplay
Cult of the Lamb revolves around a lamb who is given the task of establishing a cult to satisfy the needs of a mysterious god who saves their lives. Players embark on a roguelike-style expedition, exploring five distinct areas to defeat enemies and expand their following.
The game world is procedurally generated and incorporates roguelike elements. It offers a variety of resources to gather, perks and weapons to collect, and cultists and non-believers to fight. Players can also rescue animals, which can be indoctrinated into their cult and given unique appearances and characteristics that affect their behavior within the cult.
Players manage their followers in a cult village, assigning them tasks such as resource gathering, building, worshiping, and assisting in combat. Players must satisfy the needs of their followers by preaching, performing rituals, providing food and shelter, and keeping clean.
Failure to meet these needs can lead to dissent and followers leaving the cult. To prevent this from happening, players can feed their followers, offer them gifts, re-educate them, or even detain them until dissent subsides.
The game has Twitch integration via the “Lamb Companion” Twitch extension. Viewers can participate in follower customization through a “Follower Lottery”, with their username displayed above the character. Twitch viewers can also contribute channel points through the “Twitch Totem Bar” to earn random rewards and vote in “help or hinder” events to influence player progress.
lamb worship plot
In a world filled with false prophets, a lamb known as Lambert, believed to be the last lamb, was presented to the four bishops of the Old Faith and sacrificed before them. As the Lamb dies, it encounters a god known as “The Waiting One,” who is imprisoned in chains. The god commissioned the Lamb to found a cult in his name, grant them a demonic crown, and resurrect them.
Under the guidance of Lamb’s predecessor Lato, Lamb founded a cult in the ruins of a temple, challenging and defeating four other bishops – Lehi, Hector, Karama and Shamura – to free the Ones Who Wait .
The Lamb begins a crusade, defeating each bishop and expanding the cult’s influence and the power of the Lamb. As each bishop falls, one of the chains that binds those who await breaks, bringing the god closer to freedom. Throughout the journey, the Lamb meets four bishops and waiters.
As Lamb progresses, The One Who Waits reveals that four Bishops betrayed and imprisoned him, intent on dominating the cult and reshaping the world. However, during the battle with Shamura, the Lamb learned that the one who waited was actually called “Narinder.” Shamura revealed that Narinder was the fifth bishop, brother of the Lamb, his equal, and ruler of the Kingdom of Death. Narinder became ambitious and dissatisfied with his role, leading to his betrayal and imprisonment by the other bishops.
After defeating Shamoura, the Waiting One demands that the Lamb travel to his realm to return the Demon Crown and be sacrificed in his name. With the support of his followers, Lamb opens the final gate and faces those who wait. The Lamb is then faced with the choice of sacrificing himself to fulfill the prophecy or rejecting it. If the lamb accepts, the waiter is released, tortures the lamb, and eventually kills them, ending the game.
If the Lamb refuses, a final battle ensues between the Lamb and the Waiting One’s followers, Baal and Am. Once the followers are defeated, the Waiters attempt to kill the lamb themselves. After the initial failure, the Waiter transformed and attempted to kill the Lamb again in the Nightmare Realm.
If the Lambs win again, they strip those who wait of their powers and transform them into a follower creature called a Narinder. Narinder admits defeat and the player can survive or kill him. Regardless of the choice, the Lamb’s followers are saved and the Lamb returns to their worship, marking the end of the game.
