How to Defeat the Furnace Golem in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC

When you first step into the graveyard and into the vast portal to Shadow of the Erdtree, you’ll notice something towering in the distance. A massive enemy, the Crucible Golem, stalks lazily across the land with huge, earth-shaking stomps. If you get too close, it’ll fire volleys of fire at you. Here’s how to defeat the Crucible Golem in Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC!

How to Defeat the Forge Golem in Shadow Tree

Taking down a Forge Golem in Shadow of the Erdtree requires strength, agility, and perseverance, given their overall massive size. The key to defeating a Forge Golem is to break its posture until it falls, tilting its visor close to the ground. Its visor is its weak spot, so the moment it falls, unleash a flurry of attacks on this single point.

But first, break its posture! You can attack its legs with melee attacks, but it will stomp the ground, dealing area damage at the same time. If you get close to this beast, it will fire flames from its head like a flamethrower, covering the ground. If you get too close to it, it can be deadly and difficult to dodge.

Additionally, if you want to take every advantage you can use giant arrows to hit its panels from a distance, or drop heavy cauldrons directly into the burning basket as it falls to deal major damage.

Like I said, it’s a constant battle!

Where to find other Forge Golems in Shadow of the Erdtree

Of course, in typical FromSoftware fashion, the Furnace Golem near the Scorched Ruins in Shadow of the Erdtree’s starting area is only the first elite enemy you encounter. There are many other enemies throughout the expansion, eight in total, that you can defeat. They’re all equally challenging, though.

You can find Forge Golems in the following locations:

  • Tomb of Charo
  • Shadowkeep Army Camp
  • Scorched Ruins
  • Went Ruins
  • Manus Meter Cathedral
  • Lao Ancient Ruins
  • elaq r.

Also, as I said, there are eight of them. In the Unte Ruins, in addition to the lit and angry one, you’ll also find an unlit Forge Golem waiting for you.

If your goal is to defeat every enemy in the expansion, this is definitely one of the more challenging approaches. While the Crucible Golem isn’t a boss-type enemy, it’s more than enough to destroy your light!

But hey, you can get the upper hand by tracking down the Great Katana just north of the first Forge Golem!
