How to Expand the Stables in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin

Collecting and taming monsters is at the heart of the game in Monster Hunter Stories 2. However, doing so can become quite difficult when you can only hold a small number of monsters in your stable. You can only have six monsters in your team at a time, but having a wide variety of monsters in your stable is essential.

Not only is having a large number of monsters on deck essential for combat, but genetic modification and exploration are also essential. In short, you need as much space as possible.

You can exchange bottle caps for stable expansions at Melynx Inc.

Once you’ve completed Everden’s secret quests and unlocked the ability to use Melynx’s shop, you can start upgrading your stable. Melynx Inc. is all about bottle caps, though, so finding a decent stash of them is your first step. You can find bottle caps in hidden red chests in Everdens. There are usually a few Everdens in each biome, so make sure to keep an eye out for them and find those bottle caps when you can.

Once you have secured your funds, head to the nearest town to find a Melynx representative. Melynx Felynes wear scarves around their necks and can be found by looking for an icon of a wicker basket with an eye symbol on it.

Interact with the Melynx representative to see what items are available for purchase, and search for items labeled “Stable Blueprint.” Purchase a Stable Blueprint to expand your Stable so you can raise more monsters in it.

There are 5 Stable Blueprints in total. Here are the caps they cost:

  • Stable Blueprint 1: 5 Bottle Caps
  • Stable Blueprint 2: 14 Bottle Caps
  • Stable Blueprint 3: 18 Bottle Caps
  • Stable Blueprint 4: 22 Bottle Caps
  • Stable Blueprint 5: 26 Bottle Caps

If you’ve just unlocked Melynx Inc. and want to get a head start on expanding your Stables, don’t panic if you don’t see more Stables blueprints in the store. You’ll unlock more upgrades as you progress through the story.
