Where to buy reeds in Pax Dei
Typically, Pax Dei reeds grow around rivers and bodies of water, such as the small lakes that dot your hometown landscape. However, it is not uncommon to see them growing in fields, such as near a small rock. Therefore, we recommend that you keep an eye on your surroundings, as you never know when the reeds will sprout!

Every time you find reeds, prepare your inventory as you will fill up a spot pretty quickly. It’s not uncommon to find one or two reeds. When they spawn, they appear in groups. For example, I harvested a patch on my newest character and ended up walking away with 30 reeds in my inventory. That’s enough for quite a few crafting/building recipes!
Why is a reed needed in Pax Dei
When you first discover reeds in Pax Dei, you automatically unlock a few crafting recipes: Wicker Basket and Round Wicker Basket. They are useful tools to have around your home.

More importantly, however, you’ll be using reeds to craft many of the items and structures in the game, such as:
- The entrance to the cottage
- Shingle roof
- Hut Wall
- Cottage Stairs
- Simple tanning rack
- Basic Fletching Tools
Workbenches and tools are very useful, but don’t overlook building parts. If you don’t want to live in squalor with nothing but campfires in the rain, then you’ll want to find reeds and start building a small shack in the woods. Of course, you’ll need many of the other resources in the game first!
