How to Get Rough Glass in Pax Dei

Pax Dei offers multiple crafting paths, each of which requires unlocking basic tools. You can get the initial basic tools by finding flint and bone fragments, but the next tier of tools requires harder-to-find resources. Rough Glass is one of them, and here’s how you can find and craft them in Pax Dei.

How to Make Frosted Glass in Pax Dei

Pax Dei's frosted glass

To make Rough Glass, you need to set up a furnace. You can unlock the furnace by crafting basic blacksmithing tools. After that, you can craft a furnace by collecting and using gneiss, short wood, and clay. Once the furnace is built, the Rough Glass recipe will automatically unlock.

You can queue up to craft Glass Ore using 50 Sand and 20 Charcoal. Each crafting yields 10 Glass Ore and takes 40 minutes to craft. You can craft Charcoal in a Charcoal Kiln using Sapwood. To mine Sand, you can look for Gneiss Deposits and mine them using a Pickaxe.

Once you have enough raw glass, you shouldn’t have to wait in line for too long, because you’ll need furnaces to make iron ingots. If you’re playing with one or more friends, you might want to build multiple furnaces to meet everyone’s needs. Since iron ingots take a long time to make, and each player will need hundreds of them, you really need to ramp up your production.

What is frosted glass used for?

Rough Glass is mainly used for crafting basic forging tables. You can craft the following items:

  • Basic distillation tools
  • Basic Pharmacist Instruments
  • Basic Jewelry Making Tools

These tools allow you to obtain a lot of important items such as jewelry, potions, and other useful items, especially in combat. You don’t need that much glass to craft these tools, as you only need less than 20 glass to craft all of them.
