How to Get Suet in Pax Dei

Pax Dei’s cooking system is more complex than most survival crafting games. This is because there are several different crafting structures in the game that are specifically designed for making food, drinks, and other consumables. One of the main ingredients for meat dishes is suet, but suet can be hard to find. Here’s a quick guide on where to find suet in Pax Dei and get your kitchen set up as quickly as possible.

Where to buy suet in Pax Dei

Battle Old Boar Pax Dei

Suet is primarily dropped from dead old boars and other coarse animals. While other animals may drop suet, boars are best suited for gathering suet as they tend to hang out in groups. They also drop large amounts of wool fiber and other cooking materials such as boar carcasses and animal entrails.

Boars can be found almost everywhere, but some areas are better than others because you can farm other resources. In the mountains (starting areas), you can also find herds of boars, and also useful minerals like impure iron ore and granite. It’s best to go around these areas and farm multiple resources at once. You’re sure to get some suet, especially if you branch out to other areas when you return to base.

If you want to get closer to the center of the map, there are boars there too, but wolves, bears, and fallen creatures lurk in this area as well. Without good weapons and armor, you’ll have a hard time fighting them.

What is suet used for?

Suet is mainly used in a basic cooking stove to make other recipes. A basic cooking stove requires the following materials:

  • 1x Basic cooking tools
  • 20x Gneiss
  • 50x Charcoal
  • 25x Clay

With a basic cooking furnace, you can craft lard and tallow, which require 2 blocks of suet per crafting. You will receive 5 blocks of lard or 5 blocks of tallow per crafting, which are mainly used to make better meat dishes and bring amazing temporary benefits to your character.
