If you are a Katana user, this expansion pack has a great Here’s a surprise for you. This is one of the best weapons you can get extremely early on, almost minutes after you start the expansion. Here’s how you can get the Great Katana in the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.

Elden Ring: Elder Tree Shadow Large Katana Location

After you start expanding and sit at the first Grace Site, you will need to head north and follow the road marked on the map.

The Path to the Shadow of the Sword

You can avoid fighting the enemies on the road altogether and head to another Place of Grace, where you’ll run into Freya and Leda. Again, if you’re in a rush to get the Great Katana, sitting there is optional for now. Continue along the road until you see a small lake on the left.

Great Katana Positions

Go down towards it and you’ll see the Ghost Flame Dragon sleeping in the lake in the distance. Next to it is a corpse with a large knife on it. You don’t need to wake the dragon at all, just pick up the knife and fast travel to your original place of grace.
