The Thunder Cage Ultimate Weapon in First Descendants

You can get Ultimate weapons by crafting from Anais or from the premium battle pass. These Ultimate weapons are among the most powerful weapons in the game, but it is not much different from the rare (purple rare) weapons. In fact, some rare weapons have higher DPS than Ultimate weapons. We will discuss this more later.

To craft an Ultimate Weapon, go to Anas in Albion and interact with her. Go to Research Requests and on the left, you will see some categories. Go to the Weapons category and look at some of the Ultimate Weapons available.

Each weapon requires some materials or blueprints to start researching. If you have a specific ultimate weapon selected, you can hover over the research materials and see their acquisition information. Most of these items come from quest rewards, but some of them also drop from amorphous material patterns.

Once you have gathered the materials, you can return to Anais to begin researching. Most ultimate weapons take at least 4 hours or more to craft, so it is best to prioritize crafting these weapons before ending the game.

List of Ultimate Weapons in First Descendants

As mentioned before, Ultimate weapons tend to have lower DPS than other rare weapons. However, these Ultimate weapons are effective. Let’s take the Thunder Cage as an example, you can also see the description of this weapon in the picture above.

The Thunder Cage has an effect called “Overload”. The effect of Overload is “When defeating an enemy, the defeated enemy has a chance to release a shock wave, dealing additional damage to nearby enemies.”

The DPS numbers on the weapon do not take this effect into account. In addition to the Shockwave effect, you also gain reload time modifiers, proc rate, and damage range stat bonuses from Overload. On top of that, you can use a workbench to combine two Thunder Cages and enhance the unique ability “Overload”.

In short, while DPS plays an important role in damage output, ultimate weapons make up for it with their unique abilities. You must upgrade your ultimate weapons because they start at level one once they are crafted or researched.
