How to Use Photo Mode in Zenless Zone Zero

Zenless Zone Zero is the latest action-RPG from miHoYo, now available on PC, PS5, and mobile devices. As with previous miHoYo games, players can use the camera feature to take photos of their surroundings and different characters. This feature is not currently available in this game, so here’s how to use the photo mode camera in Zenless Zone Zero.

How to unlock the camera in Zenless Zone Zero

After completing the tutorial mission, during the prologue intermission, you will have some free time to complete some small missions around the city. During this time, you will unlock the camera function so that you can take a picture of the cat after petting it. This mission is part of the main campaign and you can’t miss it.

Once you’ve unlocked the camera feature, you can use it by simply holding down the F key on a keyboard or the LT key on a controller to bring up the quick menu. From the quick menu, select the camera shutter icon.

In photo mode you only have the following options

  • Zoom level

  • Hide the UI
  • Photograph

After taking a photo, you can click the Save icon in the lower right corner to store it locally on your computer. You can also hide your UID and account information if you want.

The photo mode is very basic, even compared to games like Honkai Impact 3 or Howling Tides. It is not available during combat, and you cannot take pictures of the main character. This is mainly for taking pictures of people and urban environments. You can think of it as a camera feature, rather than the powerful photo mode we are used to in recent releases.

The PC version runs fine, save for Unity crashes (which you can fix with a few tweaks). For more on Zenless Zone Zero, be sure to check out our dedicated section.
