ICC WTC Points Table (2023-2025): Latest World Test Championship Standings and Ranking

The third edition of the ICC World Test Championship (2023-2025) is underway, with 68 matches in 27 series over two years. The tournament kicks off with The Ashes in June 2023 and the final will be held at Lord’s Stadium in June 2025. Each team will play six series, half home and half away, with each team having 12-22 matches. The schedule is tight, with teams competing fiercely for a place in the final, with each match lasting five days.

India defeated England in Dharamsala to win the series 4-1 and consolidate its lead in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 ​​standings. Despite Australia’s win over New Zealand, India retained the first position, with Australia moving up to second and New Zealand remaining third.

England’s 241-run win over West Indies has allowed them to advance to the sixth spot in the World Test Championship. In the second Test match in Nottingham, spin bowler Shoaib Bashir took figures of 5/41 as England beat West Indies by 143 runs, chasing down a tally of 385.

ICC WTC Tournament Schedule

The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced its Future Tours Plan for 2023-2027 on 17 August 2022, detailing the World Test Championship series. Unlike the traditional round-robin format, where all teams play the same number of matches, this round-robin format will be a condensed schedule where each team will only face six of the eight opposing teams. The exact dates and venues of these series will be decided by the participating teams’ respective cricket committees.

ICC WTC Points Allocation

Each team will play 6 series, with 120 points available for each series, distributed based on the number of matches played in that series. For example, a two-match series will earn 60 points per Test match, while a three-match series will earn 40 points per Test match. A tie will earn 50% of the available points, while a tie will be settled on a 3:1 points ratio.
