IPL All Teams Captains 2025: Complete List of Indian Premier League Captains and Coaches

The 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction will be held on November 24-25, 2024 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. A total of 1,574 players signed up to participate in the auction. From this pool, 574 players were shortlisted for the auction.

Each team is allowed 25 players, with a minimum of 18 players required, with a total of 204 spots available during the auction. This includes 70 spots reserved exclusively for overseas players.

The auction witnessed record-breaking bids, especially with Rishabh Pant becoming the most expensive player in IPL history, sealing a deal with Lucknow Supergiants for Rs 27 crore.

Here is the list of captains of all the teams participating in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL). The list includes:

1. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)

• Captain: Risha Pant
• Price: Rs 27 Crore
• Head Coach: Justin Langer
• Mentor: Zaheer Khan
• LSG’s expected 11-member squad for IPL 2025: Rishabh Pant, Arshin Kulkarni, Mitchell Marsh, Nicholas Pooran, David Miller, Aiden Markram, Shahbaz Ahmed, Ravi Bishnoi, Moshin Khan, Mayank Yadav and Avesh Khan.

Rishabh Pant is the captain of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for the 2025 IPL season. The news was announced on January 20, 2025, after he purchased the product for a record-breaking price of Rs 27 crore in the IPL mega auction in November 2024. Pant is the fourth captain in the history of LSG, succeeding KL Rahul, Nicholas Pooran and Krunal Pandya.

2.Rajasthan Royals(RR)

• Captain: Sanshu Samson
• Price: Rs 18 crore
• Head Coach: Rahul Dravid

Sanju Samson is the captain of Rajasthan Royals (RR) in IPL 2025. He has led the team since 2021 and remains an important part of the team. Under his leadership, RR made it to the playoffs in IPL 2024 and are aiming to win their second title in the upcoming season.

3. Sunriser Hotel Hyderabad (SRH)

• Captain: Pat Cummins
• Price: Rs 18 crore
• Head Coach: Daniel Vettori

4. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)

Virat Kohli is the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL 2025. RCB legend AB de Villiers confirmed that Kohli is back to lead the team after stepping down in 2021. Kohli has vast experience having led RCB to the 2016 IPL final and aims to end their title drought this season.

5. Punjab Kings (PBK)

Iyer is a proven leader who led KKR to the IPL title in 2024 and reunites with PBK coach Ricky Ponting.
