As of this writing, Phantom Blade Zero will not be coming to Xbox Series S|X, and S-GAME has not revealed this.

The developer confirmed in a Q&A session on Twitter that while the game was announced at the PlayStation Showcase, Phantom Blade Zero is not an exclusive title, and that S-GAME is an independent studio that does not currently have an exclusivity deal. Here is the full quote:

We’ve noticed that some media outlets have referred to Phantom Blade Zero as a “PlayStation exclusive,” but this is not true; S-GAME is an independent developer and does not currently have an exclusivity agreement.

This means that the developers can release an Xbox version if they wish. They haven’t revealed why an Xbox version isn’t being developed, but the Series S console could be holding it back.

Phantom Blade Zero Confirmed Platforms

Phantom Blade Zero still doesn’t have a release date, but the game will be playable at the following events in 2024:

  • ChinaJoy – Shanghai – July 26 to July 29
  • Gamescom – August 21st to 25th
  • Tokyo Game Show – Tokyo – September 28th to September 29th

While it’s entirely possible that Phantom Blade Zero could eventually or even be released on Xbox at launch, there’s currently no indication that it’s in the studio’s plans. Speaking of clarification, the developer also had to confirm that the game is not a Souls-based game, despite speculation from multiple media outlets and players.
