Yes, Yamamoto died in Bleach. Yamamoto Genryusai, the formidable captain of the Gotei 13, was killed in battle with Yhwach. Unexpectedly, Yamamoto fell victim to Yhwach’s deceptive tactics after unleashing the powerful Bankai. Initially fighting what he thought was Yhwach, it was later revealed to be Sternritter Y “The Yourself” Loyd Royd, capable of perfectly impersonating individuals.

How did Yamamoto die in “Bleach”?
In the Bleach series, Yamamoto died in a long-awaited rematch with Yhwach during the Millennium Blood War. Yamamoto found himself fighting the clones created by Sternritter Royd Lloyd, weakened after his Bankai technology was revealed, facing the wrath of Yhwach . Juvac knew that he was the only one who could deal with the Zankatachi, and he instructed Lloyd not to fight until he arrived.
Meanwhile, the real Yhwach attempts to recruit Aizen Sousuke, causing Lloyd to fail. When Juvac returns, he kills the weakened Lloyd before confronting Yamamoto. Yuvaqi stole Yamamoto’s Ukai, Saint Bergen appeared and used the Ganoderma sword, Yuvaqi killed Yamamoto.
Despite being severely injured, Yamamoto attempted to prevent Yuwahi from escaping, but Yuwahi insulted the Gotei 13 and ended the veteran’s life with Quincy Reiatsu. This climactic moment marks Yamamoto’s tragic death in the series.
