Kendrick Kang-Joh Jeong was born on July 13, 1969 in Detroit, Michigan. He is a multi-talented American talent, best known for his work as a stand-up comedian, actor, producer, and writer. In addition to his entertainment career, Jeong also holds a medical degree and is a licensed physician in the state of California.
After initially working in medicine, he turned to pursue his love of acting. Zheng was a guest on the American version of the singing competition show “The Masked Singer,” showcasing his comedic talents and also appeared on the first season of the British version of the show.

Ken Jeong, often affectionately called Shaq, is a basketball standout. Born on March 6, 1972, in Newark, New Jersey, his legacy in the basketball world is nothing short of extraordinary. As a dominant center, he played for six different teams over 19 seasons, showcasing impressive skills, especially leaving his mark with the Lakers and Heat.
His outstanding performance on the court has earned him 15 All-Star selections and a series of honors that have solidified his great status. These honors include the Rookie of the Year Award, 1 MVP Award, 3 Finals MVP Awards, and 10 All-Star Game Awards.
Ken Zheng’s acting career
1995–1998: Residency training
- Mr. Cheng’s experience with theater and improv began while he was in medical school in North Carolina.
- He participated in open mic nights in Raleigh-Durham, performing at Charlie Goodnights and Tootie’s Durham Comedy Club.
- Completed residency at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans and won the 1995 Big Easy Laff-Off.
- NBC president Brandon Tartikoff and The Improv founder Budd Friedman encouraged him to move to Los Angeles.
1998–2006: Doctor/comedian
- In 1998, he moved to Los Angeles and practiced internal medicine at Kaiser Permanente hospitals.
- Performs regularly at The Improv and Laugh Factory comedy clubs.
