Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars was released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1996 and was the last Mario game on the SNES. Kero Sewer Guide
In the Kero Sewers section of Super Mario RPG, follow these steps for a walkthrough:
- Save Block: Descend into the sewers and find a save block. Use it if necessary. There are no hidden treasures in this area, so you are free to explore.
- Swim through the puddle: Enter the water and swim to the other side of the puddle. You’ll come across a pipe. Go down it and enter the next pipe in the lower right corner of the screen. If you wish, you can fight “Cheep Cheep” enemies to gain experience points.
- Continue the path: Follow the path, enter the pipe on the other side of the room, and click on the box to get a flower. Descend to the area below and go straight up the stairs. Hit another treasure chest, but be prepared for a sudden battle with Huhwhat enemies.
- Fight Huhwhat: Huhwhat can be powerful, inflicting fear and dealing damage over time. It is immune to most special moves, except Mario’s jump. If necessary, upgrade it before facing other enemies. Once defeated, you will receive a vase and a True Shape Badge, which makes you immune to status conditions.
- Return to the upper area: Go back through the pipes to reach the stairs where the Flower Chest is located. Climb the stairs and enter the top pipe to find a treasure chest with a Super Star. Use it to plow through the rats, but be careful not to fall to lower areas.
- Go through the pipe: Take the next pipe to the left, past the rat enemies, and into the next pipe. In the new room, climb the stairs, hit the switch to drain the water, and return through the pipe. Jump to the now dry area and enter the lowest pipe.
- Prepare for the boss fight: Equip Mario with the Trueform Pin, use the box to heal, and save your progress. Note that there is a treasure chest above the pipe that you cannot reach yet.
- Boss Fight – Belome: Enter the pipe to face the boss, Belome, a giant canine creature. Equip the Trueform Pin to make combat easier. See the separate guide for tips on defeating Belome.
- After Belome: A flood warning is in effect in Belome. He stood on a switch to prevent the water from coming in. Mario and Mallow are swept away by the waves, leading to the Midas River Route, a new mini-game in which you collect coins.
