List of all Chief Ministers of Delhi (1952-2022)

Delhi gained the status of a special state from the 69th Constitution Amendment in 1991. It declared Delhi the national capital region and was appointed Chief Executive of Delhi.

The first lieutenant of Delhi was Aditya Nath Jha (ICS), and the first chief minister of Delhi was Mr. Chaudhary Brahm Prakash Yadav.

Delhi, the union territory is one of the nine union territory in India. The Chief Minister of Delhi is the CEO of the National Capital Region (NCT). The chief minister of the UT is appointed by the President of India at the suggestion of the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi (LG).

Delhi is the only coalition territory in India with the Chief Minister as CEO. Other UTSs that have legislative parliament are Puducherry, Jammu and Kashmir.

1. ChaudharyBrahm Prakash is the first centimeter in Delhi.

2. The late Sushma Swaraj was the first female chief minister in Delhi.

3. Sheila Dikshit is Delhi’s longest-serving chief minister. She served as Chief Minister of Delhi for 15 years and 25 days, from 3 December 1998 to 28 December 2013.

So this is the list of all the chief ministers in Delhi so far. The results of the seventh parliamentary election will be released on February 11. So soon Delhi will have a new chief minister.
