The Women’s Asian Champions Trophy is a platform to showcase the talent and competitiveness of women’s hockey in the region.

Over the years, the competition has been fierce among participating countries, with South Korea becoming the most successful team, winning the title three times (2010, 2011 and 2018).

India and Japan have both won the trophy twice, with India becoming the defending champion after defeating Japan in 2023.

The 2024 Women’s Asian Champions Cup is currently scheduled to be held in Rajgir, India, from November 11 to 20. There are six teams in this tournament: India, China, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea and Thailand.

Salima Tait, captain of the Indian women’s hockey team, is one of the key players to watch as India won two Asian Championships under her leadership and midfield prowess.

In the 2024 Women’s Asian Champions Trophy, besides Salima Tait, Deepika (India), Sangeeta Kumari (India), Navneet Kaur (India) and Yuri Tanaka (Japan) are all outstanding shooters who have made significant contributions to the team.

Deepika scored a total of 10 goals and emerged as the top scorer of the tournament. Her goal-scoring ability has been crucial to India’s success, including scoring multiple goals in crucial matches.

Kumari, another important player in India, scored an important goal and made a huge contribution to the team’s offense. Kaur also played an important role in India’s attack, scoring several goals, including a crucial one in the knockout stages.
