Fantasy ending explanation

At the end of Fantasy Factory, it is revealed that Sanfang Town is a spirit world inhabited by ghosts, identical to the real world after a tragic accident at the steel mill. Masamune discovers that the girl from the future, Yimei, is the daughter of his youth and Mumei, and the key to solving the mystery of their supernatural existence.

Yimei’s emotions affected the town, and when she witnessed her parents’ appearance when they were young in a romantic moment, it triggered a series of events. In order to help Yimei return to reality, Zhengzong formulated a plan for Mumei to sacrifice her chance of survival for love.

When Itsumi leaves on the train, Mifuse’s spirit world dissipates, and its ghostly inhabitants cease to exist. The film’s ending reveals Itsumi’s reality, confirming that the events were not hallucinations, but real events in her life. The film’s ending explores themes of love, sacrifice, and the consequences of changing emotions in a world frozen in time.
