The birth of the country of Mumbai

The state and birth of Maharashtra and Gujarat
After years of struggle and demand for different countries. According to the people, the Indian government finally agreed to reorganize the state of Mumbai. On May 1, 1960, Mumbai was officially divided into two separate states, namely Maharashtra and Gujarat. With the establishment of the states, Mumbai became the capital of Maharashtra. The initial capital of Gujarat was Ahmedabad, which was later changed to Gandhinagar. Now, this historic day is remembered every year as Maharashtra Day and Gujarat Day.
