Malaysia flight MH370: The World’s Greatest Aviation Mystery! How did scientists solve the mystery of its disappearance?

As usual, the pilot prepared to take off, rushed into the clear blue sky, and the entire crew and 239 passengers boarded the plane, which was originally scheduled to fly from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Beijing, China.

However, the flight failed to reach its destination as it mysteriously disappeared from radar and communications shortly after takeoff. The disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 on March 8, 2014 remains one of the greatest aviation mysteries in history.

Australian scientists say they have found MH370’s ‘perfect hiding place’

On March 8, 2014, MH370 flew from Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia to Beijing Capital International Airport in China. The plane disappeared from radar screens about an hour after takeoff, triggering a large-scale search operation that lasted for weeks.

After the plane disappeared, many scientists and officials tried to determine why the plane disappeared, with theories proposed ranging from mechanical failure to deliberate action by the pilot.

Despite the efforts, no trace of the aircraft was found in a 120,000 square kilometer (46,000 square mile) search zone in the Indian Ocean, leading to the suspension in January 2017 of the largest search operation in aviation history, led by Australia.

However, Tasmanian researcher Vincent Lane claims to have solved the mystery of the disappearance of MH370. According to him in a Likedin post, the plane was deliberately crashed into the Broken Ridge in the Indian Ocean.

“This work changes the narrative of the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 from low fuel and high-speed dive in Arc 7 to a mastermind pilot who almost pulled off an incredible and perfect disappearance over the southern Indian Ocean,” he wrote in the post.

Furthermore, he wrote in the post: “In fact, this approach would have been possible if not for the right wing of MH370 breaking through the waves and the discovery by Inmarsat of regular interrogation of satellite communications – a brilliant discovery also announced in the Nautical Magazine.”

“We now know with great accuracy that MH370’s longitude was at the intersection of the Penang airport’s (and runway’s) longitude and the Captain’s home simulator track, which the FBI and officials found and discarded as ‘insignificant’.

“This pre-planned landmark site is located at the eastern end of Broken Ridge, 6,000 meters deep, in a rugged and dangerous marine environment known for wild fisheries and new deep-sea species. It is narrow and steep on both sides, surrounded by huge ridges and other deep holes filled with fine sediments – a perfect ‘hiding’ place,” he said in the post.

“The location needs to be verified as a priority. It is up to the officials and search companies to conduct the search, but as far as science is concerned, we know why the previous search failed, and similarly, science has clearly pointed out the location of MH370. In short, the mystery of MH370 has been fully solved scientifically,” he said.

Theories and conspiracies surrounding MH370

There are many theories about MH370. However, some of them are mentioned below, which are considered to be the most plausible explanations for the plane’s disappearance.

  • Hijacking: The most widely accepted theory is that the plane may have been hijacked by the crew or passengers.
  • Deliberate crash: Some believe the plane was crashed intentionally, either by the crew or due to a system failure.
  • Mechanical Failure: Mechanical failure may lead to the loss of an aircraft.
  • Pilot Error: Human error, such as that of the pilot or co-pilot, can be a factor in an accident.
  • Suicide: There is speculation that the pilot or co-pilot crashed the plane on purpose.

  • Alien Abduction: One of the more bizarre theories is that the plane was abducted by aliens.
  • Bermuda Triangle: Some people have linked the disappearance of MH370 to the mysterious Bermuda Triangle.
  • Black Hole: A more speculative theory is that the plane entered a black hole or another dimension.
  • Remote Island or Ocean: Some believe the plane landed on a remote island or in the ocean, perhaps to avoid detection.
  • Military Base: There are theories that the plane was moved to a secret military base, possibly in a remote area.
  • Communications System Failure: A catastrophic failure of an aircraft’s communications system could render it unable to send distress signals.
  • Cabin Pressure Problems: Problems with the cabin pressure system could incapacitate crew and passengers.
  • Fuel Exhaustion: Some speculate that the plane crashed because it ran out of fuel.
  • Time Travel: A more exotic theory is that the plane somehow entered a time warp or experienced time travel.
  • Parallel Universe: Some people believe that the plane may have entered a parallel universe.

The mystery of MH370 may finally be solved

Ryan said the missing plane may have been deliberately crashed into a 20,000-foot-deep “hole” on the Brocken Ridge, an oceanic plateau in the southeastern Indian Ocean.

In a LinkedIn post, Ryan proposed that pilot Zaharie Ahmed Shah deliberately drove the plane into a deep trench filled with underwater plateaus, volcanoes and canyons, making it an ideal hiding place. He suggested that the plane’s disappearance was not due to lack of fuel, but a carefully planned move by a “mastermind” pilot to make the plane disappear.

The steep cliffs and fine sediments in the Broken Ridge area provide an environment that is easy to hide the wreckage. Ryan believes that the damage to the plane supports the theory of a controlled landing rather than a high-speed crash.

Ryan said the exact location matched a flight path previously tracked by the pilot using a home flight simulator, but that had been refuted by investigators. He believed the site – a 6,000-meter-deep hole near the Brocken Ridge – was likely where the plane crashed.

Researchers at Cardiff University also pointed out that MH370 was last located in the southern Indian Ocean and detected signals that could have come from the crash of the plane. Although more than 30 pieces of suspected wreckage were found off the coast of Africa and nearby islands, only three were confirmed to be from MH370.

A 2018 report into the disappearance concluded the plane’s controls were likely manipulated to cause it to veer off course, but investigators could not determine who was responsible.

Vincent Lane’s findings suggest that the disappearance of MH370 was a premeditated act, with the aircraft deliberately flying into a remote and deep area of the ocean, making it almost impossible to find.

Although further search work is still to be carried out by officials and search companies, Ryan believes that scientific evidence has clearly pointed to the location of MH370. This mystery that has puzzled the world for a decade may now have a scientific answer.
