In this game, you control a character named Solid Snake. Your mission is to infiltrate a nuclear facility without being detected by the bad guys. If they spot you, an alarm will sound and you must hide until they stop looking for you. You can use different strategies to hide yourself, such as crawling under things, hiding behind boxes, or making noise to distract enemies. There is a radar that shows the enemy’s location and where they can see it.

You can also use gadgets like night vision goggles or even disguise yourself in a cardboard box. It’s best to avoid fights as they can cause you a lot of damage. The game is primarily played from a top-down perspective, but the camera angle may change in certain situations. For example, it can switch to first-person view when you’re crawling or working with a specific item.

You have to face bosses in the game. To defeat them, you need to find their weaknesses. You can get advice from the support team via radio. They can also tell you the story of the game. In addition to the main story, there is also a VR training mode where you can practice your stealth skills in different scenarios. You have to complete various stages, even survival missions, to dive into ten stages within a limited time.

In 2005, some bad soldiers from Foxhound took control of a nuclear-armed island in Alaska called Shadow Moses. They threaten to use a large robot called Metal Gear REX to harm the United States unless they get something and a lot of money. Colonel Roy Campbell brought Solid Snake out of retirement to stop them. Snake enters the place through a vent and finds the first hostage, DARPA Director Donald Anderson. Anderson tells Snake how to stop Metal Gear Rex, but then he suffers a heart attack.

Snake found another hostage, ArmsTech president Kenneth Baker. They fight Foxhound member Revolver Ocelot, but a ninja appears and chops off Ocelot’s hand. Baker told Snake about Metal Gear Solid and gave him a card. He also suffered a heart attack.

Trapped in a cell, Meryl helps Snake escape and he finds Otacon. A man known as “Deep Throat” warns Snake of a tank attack. Snake meets Meryl and gets a card from her. They head underground, but Meryl turns against Snake because of a psychic named Psycho Mantis. The snake defeated the mantis.

Snake is tortured by Ocelot and Meryl is shot by Sniper Wolf. Snake escapes with Otacon’s help and fights Crow. He discovered that the director of DARPA was fake. In the Metal Gear Hangar, Snake uses this card, but it opens up Metal Gear. In Metal Gear Solid, Liquid fights Snake and tells him that they are clones of Big Boss. Gray Fox helps Snake and reveals that he is Deepthroat. He broke Metal Gear Solid and the liquid was crushed by it. Snake escapes with either Meryl or Otacon, and Liquid dies.
