First on the list is the S-class fighter. These are definitely the best in the game. Fighters like Johnny Cage and Kensi dominate here. Johnny Cage’s simple combos and unique ability called the Hype Meter make him super powerful. Kenshi brings telekinesis moves and summoning spirits, but he’s harder to master since he’s more complex to use.
Next is the A-level warrior. They’re not the best, but they’re still a good choice. Characters like Kung Lao, Raiden, Liu Kang, Omni-Man, Ashrah, and Geras all fall into this category. Each character has its strengths, such as Kung Lao who is very powerful when paired with another character named Goro, while Raiden is a good choice for beginners as he is easier to use.
Then there’s Class B. These fighters are still good, but they may need more help from other characters in combat. Tanya, Rain, Smoke, Shang Tsung, Li Mei, and General Shao all belong to this tier. They’re cool to use and have some nice moves, but they kind of rely on support to be effective. Finally, there are C-level and below fighters.
These may not be as powerful or fast as others. Characters like Baraka, Havik, Kitana, Mileena, etc. belong to this group. They may have their fans, but in combat, they have limitations compared to higher level fighters. This list can help players determine which fighters they may want to use based on their performance in the game. It’s like a guide that tells you who’s stronger and who might need more practice to win a fight in Mortal Kombat 1.
Mortal Kombat 1 plot
After defeating Kronika and Shang Tsung, Liu Kang, now the God of Fire, used Kronika’s hourglass to rebuild the universe. He gives up control to avoid being corrupted by power. He formed an alliance with Outworld and decided to continue competing in the Mortal Kombat Championship. Currently, Liu Kang has recruited Kung Lao, Raiden, Johnny Cage, and Kenshi to participate in the latest tournament. Raiden becomes the champion of Earthrealm. Geras informs Liu Kang that Shang Tsung is back and offers advice to Queen Sindel in another world. Liu Kang sends Ken, Kung Lao, and Johnny to investigate. They encounter the Tarkatan and Shang Tsung, who are extracting bone marrow from their leader Baraka. They stop Shang Tsung, but are captured by Mileena and Kitana.

Shang Tsung plans to steal souls on a massive scale, but the group escapes with the help of Reptile. They confront Quan Chi and destroy a soul-stealing device. They return to the human world to warn Liu Kang. Zero, Scorpion, and Smoke were sent to eliminate the Soul Stealers, but were captured. Geras informs Liu Kang of the time rupture caused by Damasi from a parallel timeline.
Liu Kang travels to Outworld to reveal Shang Tsung’s plans. Ermac attacks, but Mileena defeats him, causing Emperor Jerrod’s soul to appear within Ermac. They eliminate the Soul Stealers and face Shang Tsung, Quan Chi, and Damascus, who calls himself Titan Shang Tsung. They battle the titan Shang Tsung and his army of dead souls. After a hard-fought battle, Liu Kang erased the Titan Shang Tsung and his timeline. He returns everyone to their own timelines and prepares them for the Earth realm. In a post-credits scene, the parallel timeline warriors led by Titan Harvick vow to start a new, longer battle.

Mortal Kombat 1 gameplay
Mortal Kombat 1 brings a variety of gameplay features to both single-player and multiplayer experiences. It includes story mode (where players follow a plot-driven narrative) and tower mode (the traditional format of previous games). Additionally, a new seasonal invasion mode combines combat mechanics with elements from board games and role-playing games. Players navigate the board, complete challenges in each space, and earn rewards such as skins or in-game currency. Each invasion season lasts approximately six weeks and introduces new boards and themes to explore.
In combat, the game introduces Cameo warriors, independent of the main roster, who help in combat through different types of assistance: summons and ambushes. These warriors can perform special moves, be deadly and brutal, and the choice of Cameo’s warriors will also affect the player’s health during combat. Multiplayer modes include local matches on the same console, online matches against opponents from around the world, and tournament mode where matches are held according to specific tournament rules.
