National Farmers’ Day 2024: Know All About ‘Champion of Farmers’ Chaudhary Charan Singh

India celebrates National Farmers Day on December 23 every year, known as Kisan Diwas.

The festival is celebrated to recognize the contribution of farmers to the country and to commemorate the birth anniversary of Chaudhry Charan Singh, the fifth Prime Minister of India and a prominent advocate of farmers’ rights.

Every year, Kisan Diwas hosts various events including agricultural policy discussions, workshops and activities aimed at educating farmers about modern technologies and government schemes aimed at supporting them.

The theme for 2024 is “Empowering ‘Annadatas’ for prosperous nations”, emphasizing the importance of providing resources and opportunities for sustainable agricultural growth.
