What is the story and significance of Maa Chandraghanta?
Maa Chandraghanta is the latter form of Maa Parvati. After performing austerities for over 5000 years and becoming Brahmacharini, Maa Parvati married Lord Shiva. While she was settling in Kailasha, she was watched over by the demon Tarkasura, who believed that the son of Shiva and Parvati would be his downfall. To prevent this from happening, Thakkasura conspired against Parvatima and he also got help from the demon bat Jatu Kasur. Together they attacked Shivajana, causing widespread chaos.
In order to fight against Thakkasura, Maa Parvati transformed into Maa Chandraganta and fought off the evil. Worshiping Maa Chandraghanta on the third day of Navratri has great spiritual significance. Revered as a goddess, she gives her followers the power to overcome obstacles and fears while guiding them toward peace and harmony.
