What is the Diamond League?
The Diamond League is a series of elite athletics competitions held annually by World Athletics (formerly the IAAF).
The competition was launched in 2010 and brings together outstanding athletes from around the world to compete in multiple events including sprinting, middle- and long-distance running, hurdles, jumping, throwing and more.

Key moments from Chopra’s performance
Neeraj Chopra finished second at the Lausanne Diamond League with a throw of 89.49m, just behind Grenada’s Anderson Peters, who finished first with a throw of 90.61m.
Until the fourth round, the 26-year-old Chopra was in fourth place. However, on his fifth attempt, he managed to throw the spear to 85.58 meters. He saved his best for last, with a throw of 89.49 meters on his sixth and final attempt.
Grenada’s Anderson Peters won the championship with a score of 90.61 meters, and Germany’s Julian Weber came in third with a score of 87.08 meters.
